Mos Def (dissing rappers)Gets Tight Over A Lack Of Jena 6 Support

No Blunt the Cunt response? Wow.
If he does, it'll be some bullshit about Mos' "child support" stuff or something faggoty like that.

But then again, you shouldn't see it because all BGOLers should have Blunt on their "Inore List".

D-Nice 1 (The Nice One)

But honestly...why should they be there?

Rappers are entertainers...not activists.

If an entertainer wants to or does not want to participate in activism, isnt that his or her right?

Naw that shit don't work!!!!! Because many of those mother fuckers who say shit on their records defend that bull shit by saying they are street reporters and shit like that...saying they just reporting how it is in the hood and keeping it real!! Well this shit is for real!!!!!! So either keep it real and mean it or, keep it real by shutting the fuck up and stop glamorizing the downtrodden... if what you say is for entertainment and not for betterment or knowledge of a situation or crisis, then say that shit as it is!!! But don't hide behind the keeping it real facade to stack your chips..them when real issues come up...yo ass becomes a fuckin mute and then now you are just a fuckin entertainer!!... fuck that!

I believe Mos is better off than most of those rappers. I hate to see him get riled up over someone elses mistakes though.

"I'm tired of fuckin talkin! It's time to get FREE!"

Amen

BIG UPS to Mos, speaking the truth!! Its great to see an artist of today stand up for something, even if he is all but alone.

Don't generalize. Some rappers do speak.

What you're missing is that a vital part of hip hop is activism. Rap was supposed to be the voice of the unheard and now it's just a corporate arm to sell shit.

Activism is missing in hip hop today, so it's good to see Mos Def and others get involved. That's what it's going to take for the new CVM to take place.

Cosign........... I'll give hm that much credit

That's whats up! I'm not going to front, I was feeling what he was saying on Real Time, but his delivery was off to me. Him, in this setting, expressing himself as is, is beter way for him to communicate his point of view. Much dap!

Never really liked cuzzo's music, save for 1 or 2 tracks, literally, but I must admit dude is alright with me doing shit like this. Realest shit I done heard all year, fuck this, fuck them, and fuck that, nigga let's get free hahaha.

Now, dat's what's up!! When shit is real- who shows character and and just shows? I guess a lot of our people are black-face.

THEY SHOULD BECAUSE
THEY USE THE EXCUSE ABOUT HOW THEY ARE ONLY RAPPING ABOUT SHIT THAT HAPPENS IN THE HOOD AND TO DESCRIBE THE SCENE OF THE HOOD

WELL IF THEY ARE TRYING SO HARD TO EXPOSE ALL THE FOUL SHIT IN THE HOOD
WHY WOULDNT THEY WANT TO HELP CHANGE IT.

IF A RAPPER HAS SOLD 10 MILLION CDs THEN HE ESSENTIALLY HAS 10 MILLION FOLLOWERS SO THEY HAD A MUCH BROADER REACH AND BASE TO GET THE MESSAGE OUT
ANYONE WITH THAT KIND OF POWER AND DOESNT USE IT TO UPLIFT THE VERY PEOPLE THEY CLAIM TO RAP TO AND ABOUT THEN THEY ARE SELLOUTS.:hmm:

Thats where I disagree with so many of you...the "power" that so many brothas claim that rappers have.

Rappers have no more power over their consumers than Microsoft has over people who own the X-box or the NBA has over people who favor a particular NBA team.

My point is that Rap music is apart of the entertainment industry!

The definition of industry is:

1. Commercial production and sale of goods.

Take consumers with a grain of salt and take these business men rappers who are NOT "ARTIST" with a grain of salt.

Stop giving them so much damn influence.

The only reason that rappers appear to have so much influence is that we have a generation of kids being raised by the state (not by mom and dad).

Mom and dad are either too busy making money or being influenced by the media and entertainment industry in one form or fashion themselves.

You
know what I mean.....

If families would spend some goddamn time with their children, then the pseudo influence of rap...and other negative influences would disintegrate.

You all know why they don't show. They like working - end of story. You can sell to, degrade, mock, and exploit "your people", but you can't stand up for them because you don't want to loose endorsements or jobs. Man, I miss real people like Ali!

Jordan had shoes, back in the day and now, that are way too much for the average, impressionable , kid to buy. He knew kids were getting killed over his brand. You think he was going to loose his McD's, Hanes, Nike, Gatorade gig to protest... f-no! Most blacks that "make it" are so happy and scared that they will do nothing to loss the status.

I am glad Mos stood up. I never really dug his music, but I respect his commitment and sincerity.

I feel ya but to me rappers nowadays promote the destruction and dumbing down of the African American male. Its no surprise they wouldnt be there to support the ascension

Rappers promote conceptual fantasies for profit...and the consumers are either intelligent enough to not be influenced or duped into believing in the "lifestyle".

Mos has a point but to expect a rapper or whoever to feel as passionate about the situation as he does is foolish.

Most people including rappers are too selfish and ignorant to give a damn or their time for anything they think won't benefit them.

Quoted for Truth. Apathy is rampant.

IN BOLD YOU JUST ADMITTED THAT IT DOES EFFECT PEOPLE.
IF YOU DONT BELIEVE THAT RAP HAS INFLUENCE ON PEOPLE
TELL ME WHY THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE OF PEOPLE TRYING TO SUPASOAK THAT HOE ?
YOU ARE ACTING LIKE EVERY HOUSEHOLD HAS GUIDANCE.
SHEEPLE ARE EASILY INFLUENCED

IF VIDEOS DIDNT HAVE INFLUENCE THEN SO MANY
YOUNG BLACK MEN IN AMERICA WOULDNT BE WALKING AROUND SAYING THE SAME SHIT AND WEARING WHITE Ts AND LOCKS
TRYING REAL HARD TO IMITATE THE SAME SHIT THAT GETS GLORIFIED IN THESE VIDEOS SO THEY CAN GET HOES AND BLING.

IF RAP HAS NO INFLUENCE
WHY ARE WHITE PEOLE SAYING BLING ...WITH A STRAIGHT FACE:hmm:.

I THINK YOU JUST DONT WANT RAP TO HAVE THE INFLUENCE IT DOES
YOU DONT HAVE TO LIKE IT BUT THE FACT IS IT DOES
IT MAY NOT EFFECT YOU THAT WAY BUT EVERYONE ISNT YOU.

SITE SOME EXAMPLES FOR ME THAT SAYS OTHERWISE AND I WILL AGREE WITH YOU.

Dam good point that brother made when he said.Im tired of talking get free. Black folks better wake up and smell the coffe time is runing out they locked those kids up for a school yard fite pluse they want to hit that kid with a 30 year bid. At 16 years old that could be any one of us black males in the wrong place at the wrong time. We have been takeing a ass kicken for a very long time .This is the pinacle of our life here and now i got three of my brothers right now doing high number bids for some miner stuff none of it involving murder. Like my uncle told me you better strap up becuse your ass is on the line you brothers better strap up its comeing. :smh:

He shoulda ran names.

People like Diddy can't really be there because he is owned by white men.
So its understandable for him and a few of the multi millionaire bunch.

They have been instructed not to take part in shit like this. It's a no no.

Diddy will urge you to vote though.
