January
1. Study 2 hours a day.
2. Sit down and go through those links posted above to determine what is most important for me to accomplish for 2010 besides studying. I have so many things left on the table that weren't completed in 2009 and many other things I want to complete in 2010. Only room for so much.

JAN

1 - Finally pop my black ass up in this thread and post some shit.

2 - Get 20 more customers up in our tax spot between today and the end of the month.

3 - Figure out a way to incorporate Da Don's window washing hustle, and help out some bruhs that need a lil xtra scratch.

Great post!!! Congrats! Was it a difficult test?

I'm looking to get my coaching certificate while I'm in grad school taking 18 credits. I'm going to look at doing it online, but am not sure I can do it in a month. Will report back once I know. Thanks for the motivation.

Revisiting this post. I've completed a grad program, which consists of 60 credits in a year and a half. Did one course of the coaching certificate and did not continue the rest b/c my focus was lacking in my grad program, but now that i'm done with it, I'm back on it! Props to those that are keeping it pushing, 1.

Congrats on your grad program. Way to stay focused man. Dont let up.

1)Started looking into dividend paying stocks. May start purchasing over next couple of weeks.
2)Got busy as hell at work and that cut into my BSCI time. Plan on taking it in Feb. for sure.
3)Plan on snow balling some debts to get rid of them. Budget is still the same, but I am charting my plan.

****BONUS**** Been busy as hell at work and it is paying off. Just got a raise that gives me an extra $1g/month. Some of these funds will go to 1 and 3 above.

Congrats bro. On your raise. I am in job search mode again. My contract was up on Friday.

That was a good bump. Mine for Sept. would be:

1) Increase newsletter subscriptions by 500%
2) Increase Facebook fans by 400%
3) Increase Alexa traffic by 45%
4) Continue to increase awareness of brand
5) Increase usage of Twitter & Facebook accounts
6) Complete advertising media kit for prospective advertisers

As far as number 6 goes, anyone actually do one of these things? It's kinda like a press kit, but it has rates and information to make advertisers wanna place an ad. I was wondering if there was an easier way to do it, like if there were some software that can do some different layouts and I just plug in the values.

Well I didn't hit any of my goals for the month, although I did have some increases and decreases. Of course I want things to happen overnight but I don't have the budget or human resources to make that happen right now.. :(

Breakdown:

1) Newsletter subscriptions increased by 76.6%
2) Facebook fans increased by 82.7%
3) Alexa ranking increased by 4.76%
4) Awareness of brand did increase, so good work there
5) Facebook had a surge in usage, Twitter...not so much
6) Didn't even work on the media kit at all

So my goals will somewhat carryover for this month. I had a decrease in pageviews and uniques (17.7% & 16.3% respectively), but overall I think I'm still doing well compared to the major players who are in my field right now.

Big news is that my logo trademark has finally been registered! It took almost 8 months, and this was with virtually NO issues.

Pretty proud of this fact -- among others -- because I know it separates me from most of the other people out there who talk about it but don't wanna BE about it.

Ok, goals for October:

1) Increase newsletter subscriptions by 250%
2) Increase Facebook fans by 425%
3) Increase Alexa ranking by 6% or more
4) Hire 2 interns for social media & photography
5) Integrate more Facebook features into website
6) Start pushing website ad sales now that foundation is solid & I have numbers to back up claims
7) Look for an investor
8) Secure Chinese supplier of promotional items (t-shirts, hand sanitizer, coffee mugs, etc)

Slow process, but looking back it's amazing to see how far Ive come!

WOW I didn't know what I was thinking... :smh:
Well, I've been pretty consistent with 3, 4, 6, 7, and 8

I need to really concentrate these next two months on 1 and 9 especially!

2, 5 and that Hindi/Urdu goal have to be put on the back burner for now...

Keep up the planning and encouragement guys...PEACE

Thanks for bumping this thread. Month is not over but wanted to give a preliminary update:

#1, 2, and 3 will be evaluated at the month's conclusion
4) Interviewed 2 inters so far, two more interviews are to be done today
5) Done
#6 and 7) not completed or attempted (mostly due to a revamp in the website and other goals)
8) Found a couple, but haven't purchased anything yet

This thread helps me take things more seriously.

Bump...

Man I'm having the "economy is getting downright nasty out here" blues. Dunno if I'm the only one.

I have good days and bad days...staying focused is kinda tough these days.

Anyway, will do an in-person interview w/ the 3 interns who I like thus far during next week. See where it goes from there.

Still not hitting any of my goals, so I gotta tighten up on that a LOT. Ok, well maybe I am hitting some of my goals, but you know...no where near where I would like to be. Only one person to blame, so he's gotta get his ass in gear forreal.

So where da fellas at in this journey? Update time!

Goals for December

1. Workout 5 days a week. (Trying to get a head start on New Year's)
2. Finally read these two books.
3. Work on getting my financial situation on track in 2011.
4. Continue studying my foreign languages.
5. Continue my journey of enlightenment and knowledge.

Thanks for the bump. Forgot about this thread.

One thing I have found is that setting goals forces you to think about what you want, and actually plan it out. It's "Work" for many people but it is work that must be done if you want to make it anywhere in this world. I hate to do it, but after it's over I'm proud of the achievement.

Although I did get my interns, only one of them worked out. Her "contract" was up in April, and since the end of April I've been using virtual workers who have truly opened my eyes to what is possible when you plan and delegate. My productivity is the highest it has ever been in life (business-wise), and allows me to truly be a manager instead of a worker.

I now understand how the rich have gotten rich, and why they stay that way. Although this is the tip of the iceberg, I really think that 2012 will be a banner year because of the things I've learned and implemented in 2011. I would suggest some of you take your heads out of the sand and really get serious about the rest of your lives.

Good to see someone made some improvements while working on their goals. Good job brother. Keep up the good work.
