I know there are a number of people on here that are into videography, film and video editing. Mods, is it possible for ya'll to create a sub-forum for us in the Photography forum that deals with Video and editing?

I want somewhere that we can share ideas, tips, software and advice on video and video editing with each other.

Anyone else interested?

Peace.

***EDIT***

The Videography, Film and Video Editing Forum is Now Open

Great idea but I think it would be better served if the "videography/film..." would be subforumed in the EDUCATION FORUM.

We need an Education Forum desperately HNIC....seriously.

why not just encapsulate it as "multimedia"?
a lot is involved with video/film editing.

motion graphics, 3d, flash, compositing, etc.

Hell yea, I wanna get my editing game up.

I wanna know how to combine vids shot at the same time from diff angles. Also how to sync them properly.

If you have lets say 2 Sony cameras, you can link the cameras with a cable to sync the timecodes to FREERUN so that when you're editing your content, everything should be in sync. You just have to remember to write down the timecode everytime you start and stop filming.
Or the shitty way which I have to do because I have two different brands of cameras. I try and sync the timecodes as accurate as possible and try to sync the audio when i edit which can be a pain in the ass.

Co-sign. After I teach myself After Effects, I'm gonna learn all the 3d stuff. Maya etc.

Just use a clapboard...

Throw your questions and info out in the op's thread here until we find out what's what. Maybe some on here can help or get some help..

Damn... thanks. After Effects is fuckin hard if I don't have these tutorials to help me.

AE can be intimidating, but if you are familiar with photoshop, just approach it the same way. Really AE is just photoshop in motion. Good luck!

It's just when I open one option, there are sup options in these sets of sup options. It just looks overwhelming and intimidating sometimes. I'm looking for the Lynda.com tutorials for After Effect CS4 so that I can learn the basics of the program first.
