I think the difference here is that he's the owner of the company, he's the guy who pays and hires the employee. Black panther is owned by Disney so that makes sense, and even then Ryan coogler made sure to keep the CACness to a minimum with his limited power. No one is forcing mark ass Brownie to hire nothing but white people, he just likes being surrounded by them.

When black people get budgets to shoot music vids, shoot movies, have them catered, etc they not running out looking for all black behind the scenes people. Remember when you have a budget you can control who you hire or what service you use. Yet it’s almost always majority pale faces. I’ve seen the most hood vids have white cameraman and directors in the background. This is from personal experience. It’s always funny seeing a pale face surrounded by black people whenever things need to be shot , etc.. they make sure to give them white people their money in full and not get touched. The level of respect they give those cacs is another story.. you would think black people didn’t know how to use cameras, edit, hold lights, etc with how much pale faces get hired

They’ve been showing behind the scenes of movies, tv shows, vids since forever.. they be like cut and you see a bunch of cacs with large headphones, holding cameras, set designers, makeup people, etc.. nobody ever blinks an eye .. don’t act like you never seen behind the scenes of black films and seen nothing but cacs.. this isn’t new info. Or are you talking about a white studio producing a Black tv show, movie or vid?
I'm unsure of what your argument or point is, but the Black head\owner of a company hiring nothing but white people is going to stand out and have Black people looking at you in a certain way.

He is making the shoes domestically in New Jersey and not contract manufacturing them overseas which is cool. MKBHD is setting up a program for high school seniors to get manufacturing or skilled jobs, that you don't need a college degree to earn a good living.

On more than one occasion MKBHD has said how noticeable it is that in the tech world he is one of the few Black faces that he sees when he goes to tech events.
So for someone to SAY THAT and then turn around and not have one Black face as part of his company says a, lot about him.
I can tell from some of the responses in this thread that there are a lot of people who are fans of his on here. I'll be honest I was a fan as well. But when you call out the problem and then don't practice what you preach in your own life it tells me that you're just all talk and as someone who has to recruit and has gone out of his way to find Black people in my industry it's not that hard to find Black people in any role if you're willing to look for them.
