Miss Universe Pageant Invites Steve Harvey Back to Host Next Year

Television personality Steve Harvey hosts the 2015 Miss Universe Pageant at The Axis at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on December 20, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
*The Miss Universe folks just put an end to speculation that they’ll never hire Steve Harvey again after he announced the wrong winner on Sunday.



In an interview today on Jim Rome’s CBS Sports Radio Show, Mark Shapiro, chief content officer for “Miss Universe” owners WME | IMG, said the “Family Feud” host was “very remorseful” about the error and that Harvey was “absolutely” welcome back to host the 2016 pageant in Belize.

Shapiro said Harvey “did a great job. He was funny, he was informative, he’s high energy, he’s got a great following… I definitely want him back, and I would hate to see him not come back. He’s going to want a shot to redeem himself.”




The Belize Tourism Board is also hoping Harvey will return as host, stating it was impressed with the way he handled himself after the mistake and that it disagreed with speculation that the incident could slam the door on his future hosting opportunities.

Honestly, Steve did a GREAT job hosting the pageant. It's kinda one of those "other than that Mrs Lincoln, how was the play?" deals. And I was pretty much the only BGOLer posting updates about the pageant here while the show was still going on, so my opinion is not just knee jerk reacting after the fact.
 
People only remember you for the times you fucked up, not the times you were on point.


Especially on live TV.

But he's a comedian, he should know how to use this opportunity for more material. He can even make light jokes about it if he hosts again next year. As long as he continues to be remorseful, he'll continue to be in demand for other gigs as well.

My bad bruh I don't keep up with the gay watchlist. I'm currently only not watching EMPIRE and a couple other shows. If you have a comprehensive list please share. Did'nt think to add Ms Universe to the list as it's full of fine bitches from what I can tell. Have'nt watched it yet so apparently I've been lucky enough to dodge that gay bullet. This man knows. You can guarantee they will be more coverage leading up to the pageant next year and people tuning in and watching to the end....just to see if he'll fuck up again. You better believe that ad buys will be more expensive next year.

Pageant moving to an new station on Fox. How do we create controversy? Have the host announce the wrong girl as a winner. The contest gets all kinds of buzz and the host comes back for the next year. A win/win for Fox and Steve Harvey.

Jamie Foxx did the same thing when nude pics of him leaked. He was like "I'm a comedian, I can get 15 minutes of material out of this alone".

It's funny how people were outraged like they cared. I don't even know what channel that shit comes on and if it's Miss America or Miss USA who competes in it, or the difference for that matter.

Do you know how many people are going to watch next year all the way to the end to see if he fucks it up again? Aint so such thing as bad publicity player. I didn't know the Ms. America pageant still existed til he fucked it up.

Steve owns a piece of the pageant. He may be corny as fuck, but he ain't no dummy. He has equity.

And the rest of the production company ain't dumb. They know next year's ratings will be bananas and they will sell the shit out of the advertising against it.
