Million Man March 10-10-2015 Who is attending?

I am in DC working and training. So yeah Im trying to get over there to the march PDQ....but in case I don't make it. I am already on my grind.

1) Not buying or Christmas shopping nor black Friday anything this holiday season. been doing this since 2013. teaching my fam the real value of family and togetherness......recently started focusing on all my money is going to Black Owned Businesses. bc I see it clearly here in DC that mofos that don't look like me don't treat me well in their establishment even though I go in suited down and still get the substandard treatment. I don't leave tips if this happens and it has happened 3 times at 3 different joints. But I can honestly say pay back is a bitch bc as a manager, I get to chose where my team goes for lunch and we stopped patronizing those places. I know that Korean guy gets heated every time he sees me flow past with 8 people (mixed group too {avg $10/per person x 4 days per week} adds up) headed over to the ethiopian spot or return to work with take out from other places. I make sure he sees me just to make sure the message is sent. Hey you don't treat us right then, guess what, we will take our money some where else. Plus the mom and pop spot has become a team favorite.


2) I am already mentoring 6 young people in high school with 1 headed to college. I teach them all the history and pitfalls that were never taught to me. What racism truly is..its about power and group economics...not being prejudice...I show them the difference between what a powerless ignorant redneck is capable of (all talk) vs a sophisticated, suited down intelligent racist (undercover or not-think denial of job opps/denial of business loans/miseducation) can do to you and how to deal with it.


3) I teach a class on money and credit. How to get get it, save it, keep it, earn it, and make it work for you. I am big on investing your money and not spending your money as I was never taught the difference until I got in the military. Hell I didn't have any money to begin with so I bought what every other idiot was buying....by investing your money, I mean invest in quality everything. Invest in yourself, your hard skills(say mechanic/electrician/barber/dr/nurse/farmer) and soft skills (managing/communicating with people, learning to agree to disagree, and understanding cultural components and how they affect you in the work place.)



4) I AM TELLING EVERY YOUNG PERSON THAT CAN AND HAS THE ABILITY TO START THEIR OWN BUSINESS ...PERIOD. BE YOUR OWN BANK, YOUR OWN MECHANIC, YOUR OWN ELECTRICIAN OR HAVE FRIENDS THAT HAVE THESE SKILLS. PEOPLE LOOK AT ME SIDEWAY WHEN I TELL THEM I WORK 2 JOBS BC THEY SEE ME WORKING HARD AT BEING SUCCESSFUL DURING THE DAY...BUT AT SECRETLY, I GATHERING FUNDING AND DOING RESEARCH ON EXPANDING MY CURRENTL REAL ESTATE HOLDINGS AND STARTING UP A SECOND OPPORTUNITY IN CONTRACTING WITH THE STATE AND FEDERAL AGENCIES. I AM STILL BLOWN AWAY HOW MUCH CONTRACTING THERE IS WITH THE MUNICIPALITIES THAT WE AS A COMMUNITY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT YET PAY FOR THROUGH TAXES.


I truly believe in self sufficiency with no excuses. People ask me why I do what I do. I believe that my people built this country with their blood sweat and tears...keyword on the blood. Ill be damned if I let their sacrifice and horrific pain be done in vain. I am coming for everything that they said I couldn't have. I going to get mine and make sure my family is on solid ground before its time to check out. I am going to make sure that my offspring know his history and their history and how to interpret and read between the lines so they can see the BS and know how to deal with it intelligently. Each one teach one.

I am not a teacher, I am awakener. there is still so much our people have to relearn about themselves and who they are but I believe it (the awakening of the people) is coming, just hoping its not too late.

Anybody else rolling solo? I hesitated to attend at first because I would be going by myself but I couldn't imagine missing the opportunity since I'm close.
 
Hey..to any of you guys (and gals) who are going y'all might want to see if they'll be taking names and numbers for a list. If not, you might want to start collecting names, numbers, email, facebook, etc., for organizing purposes. I read where one person went to the march in the 90's and nobody took names to followup with people.
 
For everyone going Kudos.

Make the best of the trip and it will be good to see that kind of UNITY from our brothers. It speaks volumes to the world.

Organization for black think tanks, black political parties, black business teams. We need more brainstorming...
 
Part of me thinks this is just a show of power by Farrakhan. So he proves he still has political clout.

I'm all for unity and uplifting of Black men and the Black community.
 
This March isn't about blacks, it's an interracial March. It's about Latinos, American Indians, poor whites, etc so that's enough to tell me that blacks are not the main objective but money is. Blacks don't know when they're being insulted by their issues being watered down. Including others tells me you don't care about black issues but everybody's issues. Niggaz too stupid to see it. Blacks are the only people on earth who wanna include everybody else in their struggle and they'll fight to have others included I. Their struggle too.

Damn shame since this march is more needed than any of the others. Our cities suffering with mass shootings and killings, the same now on college campuses. Guess there's no concern to our quality of life.

Btw...some of you need to read up on a few things. Yall got things misconstrued. Maybe the "anniversary" thing confused you all, but this aint a Million Man March. The goal was never to create another Million Man March. This is a "Justice or else" rally. So dont bother counting heads....

I have my own issues with Farrakhan and will never support any of his movements. HOWEVER that being said I respect the spirit of the people who are attending. My only question about the movement is the "or else" aspect of it. Justice or else implies that if they give us justice we will still willingly support this system. How about simply implementing the "or else" part and force our own justice into the system?

We should not be spending money on those holidays anyway. We should not be spending money with white businesses anyway. We should be trying to spend as much of our hard earned money with black businesses as possible.

Again I respect the spirit of the brothers who are attending.
