Mike Shanahan: Dan Snyder and RG3 conspired to change our offense

he does'nt wanna run that offense anymore, so its gonna be a struggle in that division. Remember how many hits he took when the skins played the bengals his rookie year. He does'nt wanna use his natural skills, and improve on the ones he's lacking in.

If he doesn't, he's gonna have a long season on the bench.

Him going to the owner isn't strange. What is unbelievable though is that HE told the coaches that instead of the owner telling the coaches.

I agree, this is old news but why is Shanahan continues to put all the blame on RG3,when he was the coach of the football team.

He could of told RG3, no when RG3 was saying he was ready for week 1 the next season

He could of fixed the offensive line to help his franchise quarterback

He could of did alot of things, but he continues to open his mouth about RG3.Nobody isn't saying RG3 isn't without blame, but a coach continuing to talk about a former player is beyond ridiculous.

Can you imagine,if RG3 did the same exact thing, folks would be saying he need to move on and all this other stuff and yet nobody isn't telling Shanahan to do the same thing.

RG3 moved on,why can't Shanahan do the same thing.

He said this during the season though. He told him no, but dude ran to the owner. Remember the episode MS told him he wasn't active or dressing for the preseason game & the nigga came out fully dressed on the sidelines...at that point, it was clear he had more power than the coach.

Yall have to realize the read option freezes the defense momentarily which slows down the pass rush. In Roberts rookie year he was the least blitzed QB in the league. He actually didn't have that many designed runs, most of his runs came from broken plays and he was given the option to run if his 2nd read wasn't open. So essentially the run was his check down.

When he stopped running that offense and tried to be Aaron Rodgers, he would get lit up for holding on to the ball too long. Plus another thing is Robert was never comfortable in the pocket. When the rush was coming from the outside, he wouldn't step up in the pocket, he would keep back pedaling basically in the same direction the rush was coming from. You can't blame that on the line, that's all on the Qb.

:smh: exactly. cats in here killed me for saying it, but that offense was the best thing for him with his limited pro skill set.

If Robert is gonna be successful in Cleveland, Hue will need to implement some sort of read option offense. The defense has to at least be concerned with the threat that he will take off and run. If Robert is successful being a pocket Qb in the same manner of Dalton and J.Campbell I will be shocked. I think he has the tools to get there one day, but I'd be amazed if he was there this soon.

Yup. He need to kill all that pocket nonsense & accept what he is. Learn to protect yourself, be smart while running, & be who you are...not some prototype stereotypical bullshit. Hue had the read option in the book for Dalton & ran it in moderation, gotta do the same for RG3 & he has to be willing to run it.

how did griffin look from the pocket today (assuming cle. does'nt run any read option)? is he making the same mistakes? I see his statline does'nt look too good.

No excuse for RG3 to fail, especially when the coach,GM have his back

While,I agree,he should of learn how to slide..it was Shanahan's job to do put emphasis on it.To be fair, Shanahan did bring someone to help him,but it wasn't a priority from what I understand.

Yeah, He's out of football so it's clear it wasn't Shanahan's fault. RG3 is just garbage. Thinks he can play the pocket but can't and no team even gave him a chance this year. :smh: Shanahan tried to work with RG3's flaw, but it's clear this cat wouldn't slide because he pulled the same shit in Cleveland.

Only reason I thought about this because they were talking about RG3 and Shanahan recently.
