I'm gonna say maybe they had a particular sound they were looking for to accompany what they had, and just weren't trying to hear anything but that. BUT dude was obviously extrodarnily talented even back then. Kalaidescope Dream & Wildheart are two awesome joints.

That Fatty Koo single "Chills" is still dope though. The group seemed interesting, in theory, gathering a bunch of local talent from Ohio many of whom played instruments as well as sang. But clearly they were a flash in the pan. Seems like egos may have helped that along some.

I feel like the people behind the show never actually planned for that group to be successful, because if you look at them, it's very obvious that (Diddy voice) "Ain't no stars in the group!" So when an obvious star walks in, the people who actually make the decisions let him walk. They must've already wrote the group off beforehand and said "Let's just wrap up this season"
