Man, the writing was on the wall. This week I was listening to a local FM talk radio that has GOP leaning programs, just to hear their views on the upcoming Midterm elections. They voiced their concerns bout the results. They were scared and sensibly knew what was coming.
Realistically, you can't expect gains for your Party when the economy is getting fucked over. That Muslim/Immigrants/blaaaacks boogeyman messaging was triggering when pockets are hurting.

Florida has been controlled by Republicans for 30 years. They probably viewed Florida as a lost cause.
IMO Nixon's primary win should have been a wake up call for democrats. She got votes that she "shouldn't" have gotten. They underestimated her appeal.

Yeah, if callers are losing faith in Trump on Hannity's show, you know they're feeling the pain.
I dead ass get the same feeling I get when I see or hear him as I get with Trump which is saying a lot.

Yea, that, "give us another chance" messaging was both tone deaf and triggering when folks are already struggling, affording less (tariffs, new Iran war to rising gas prices, food prices, etc.), terrorizing communities with militarized ICE kidnapping random U.S. Citizens for heinous human trafficking acts at profiteering prisons / detention centers, eliminating Healthcare subsidies (within ACA), spiking unemployment with firing of Government professionals, eroding Voting Rights, attacking Civil Rights, etc. None of that bullshit is sustainable for a nation that needs to function.
Those Town Halls from last year in deep red states was the pulse the GOP ignored.
