Mid Year Fantasy Basketball Review: How's Your Team Holding Up So Far?

I'm losing bad in my league... I fucked up in drafting Nash (horrible season) with my chance to pick, followed by Carlos Boozer (injured since early Nov.) in my second chance. Some good players I drafted I ended up trading (i.e. Ray Allen for Corey Maggette - :smh: in retrospect - I thought Corey under Don Nelson's system would be scoring machine but it turns out he's injured most of the time).

I'm second to last in my 12 team league. :(

How are the rest of ya'll doing?

This is how my team roster looks as of now...

Nice looking squad you got there man. Hold onto O'Neal, he should have a very good second half

Doing pretty damn good in my ESPN leagues. Second place out of 16 teams so far in our league. There's another league someone on the main board started and I'm in 2nd there also (only 10 teams). Only thing is there is one cat in that league that streams players every single day. Dude has over 160 moves and we're just hitting the all star break. This cat was so SHOOK when he played me this week that he made 14 moves in 4 days!!

Mixed reviews in the Yahoo leagues. In keeper leagues, I'm doing great, in non-keeper leagues, I'm middle of the road or worse

complete ass.

gerald wallace out

elton brand out

caron butler was out

david west was out

last or next to last place.

The bad thing about this is those players all used to be guys who never missed many games. Except for West that is

we are in the same league usual suspects:lol:

i'm in eight leagues. I'm first in two leagues in the playoff hunt in 5 others and third to last in one. My worst squad i joined runaway's 16 team keeper league with ten keepers thats been going on 5 years. The best players on that team were Mike Dunleavy and Jermaine O'neal:smh: I managed to trade O'neal for oden who i then flipped for Horford. I traded Kristic and Chandler for Boozer:yes:

Overall i'm basically playing for next year since i really had no shot at the palyoffs
This is the team i inherited
Jermaine O'Neal
Mike Dunleavy
Mike Bibby
Tyson Chandle
Jamario Moon
Larry Hughes
Cuttino Mobley
Raja Bell
Hakim Warrick
Boris Diaw
Wilson Chandler
Yi Jianlian
Mario Chalmers

This is my team now

Mario Chalmers
Rudy Fernandez
Chris Duhon
J.R. Smith
Wilson Chandler
Carlos Boozer
Mike Dunleavy (hope he doesn't need microfracture surgery)
D.J. Augustin
Louis Williams
Jeff Green
Nick Collison
Louis Amundson
Corey Maggette

You drafted Jialian, Chalmers and Chandler yourself man. You did not "inherit" them. And the guys you did inherit finished strong last year (7th out of 16 in a very tight league).

i know i drafted those guys but that team was not very good and i knew they wouldn't be able to compete. My best player missed about 80% of his games (dunleavy). Jermaine o'neal i wouldn't even have drafted. Most of the players were bench guys or lesser role players (warrick, hughes, moon). Yeah he made it to 7th place but everyone else had players who got better (Durant,Green ,Granger) This team had nothing and the record reflects that & i've been active all day everyday.

In that league last season, the top team had a winning percentage of slightly over .600. Teams 2 through 12 were over or close to being over .500 and teams 13 - 16 were all over .400 as well. There were NO teams that were completely out of the running (or as you put it, "have no shot at making the playoffs"). That is the beauty of our league. EVERY team has a chance to make the playoffs if things fall right and they stay healthy

Last year, teams 2 - 13 all had a shot of making the playoffs going into the last month of action. Basically, the same thing that's going on right now. Other than the 1st place team (who was in 12th last year). One or two good players drated is the difference between winning and losing. Especially if you have one of your core players out sick for an extended period of time

The thing is you keep bringing up last year when it was just that last year. I played long enough to know what type of shot i have. There was NOBODY on that team that was taking me to the playoffs. My best player on the squad this year was bibby, who was playing in a contract year so you know he was going to have a good year. The rest were unproven rookies, bench players and injuried players.

who were my one or two players?
Dunleavy was ranked 20th last year but he wasn't going to do it alone for me
O'neal if you counting on him to be your second or third best player your in trouble
Tyson Chandler see above
Bibby see previous post
Moon & Warrick In and out of the lineup
Larry Hughes in and out of doghouse
Diaw & Bell They were only good as the offense that was being run LAST YEAR
Wilson Chandler, yI , Chalmers- rookies
