I'm the rebel of the board. The non Sheep. I have a Zune and its cool to me. Fuck an Ipod. I swear niggas on here are clones. Whats so great about the Ipod? It plays Shitty quality Mp3's just like the Zune so who gives a fuck. I just happened to want to try something new as I did with the PS3. Damn I blaze trails. Continue to be sheeple.

So you've blazed two trails to where?
Nogamesville and Brickwithoutaccessoriesonia?

This is sounding like a ps3 xbox thread , xxplosive youre playing pretty tight on apple there. I have a vid ipod though b4 you flame me. But with that said I have no idea how good zune is BUT there is a long list of EX microsoft employees and Ms products are still going strong. When has the Big money gorilla took an L ? or given up on a product they pushed without replacing it with a better one lol. That doesnt hurt the zune . MS is a executive drone factory.

The Archos is a slamming player. Great screen, comes with a remote, works as a DVR, plays music and just about all video formats. It's not as "portable" as a video Ipod but the added functionality makes up for it. The Archos isn't a gym media player, it's a I'm going on a plane/staying in a hotel/being with boring relatives media player... Keep your eyes on woot or other deal sites for one on sale.

You say the Zune plays shitty quality mp3's, yet you still bought it???

Why would you pay for a new shitty product that is the SAME PRICE as the old shitty product???

The Archos is a very nice player, I will give props where it is due.
If I didn't want an iPod (for whatever reason), I would probably go with an Archos.
It's pretty slick and has a lot of extra features (most of which I don't need anyways).
However like you said, it's not very portable for things like jogging or going to the gym...but still a pretty nice player

Just for the record (just so y'all don't think I'm just an Apple lover and a Microsoft hater) I do own an Xbox 360 AND a PC with Windows on it.

I've got no affiliation with Apple, I just happen to think their mp3 player is superior right now...of course that could change down the line.

I use a home stereo dock for my iPod which you can control through your TV through the menus on the screen?
Does the Zune have that yet?
I really don't even use the headphones unless I am traveling.
I pretty much use it as a home jukebox (that's able to hold 80GB)

Also what about technical support?
What's gonna happen if they slash their customer support department and your Zune breaks down in the future?
At least with an iPod, if it breaks down you can just take it to an Apple Store and they will replace it for free if they can't fix it.

Control my TV with my Zune? Not sure but I got a remote for that.
They will replace a broken Ipod at the IPod store if they can't fix it, no shit? As long as it's under warranty though right?

No, I'm saying I can flip through the songs on my iPod through on-screen menus on my TV.
And yes, they will replace your iPod at the Apple Store if it's still under warranty.
I've had a couple of friends already do that.

ive always been a all in one type of person.

id rather have this instead of a mp3 player. Its a phone, a digi camera(3.2 megapixel) and a mp3 player.

Most people always have their cell phones with them, so why do you want to carry a cell phone (and all its accessories) and a portable mp3 player (and all its accesories)?

not only that, but it can transmit music via bluetooth, meaning you can use wireless bluetooth head phones with the phone or if you have a bluetooth car receiver you can stream music to that as well...now tell me transmitting music from your cell phone to you car radio isnt some fly shit!

I know its a iphone coming out, but the ericsson is still superior in terms of camera resolution. The iphone will only have 2 megapixel, while the new ericsson will probably have 4 megapixels by that time.

I tried doubling my Nokia phone as an mp3 player as well, but I encountered too many problems trying to do so.
I bought a 4GB memory card but it kept becoming corrupt when I tried to put mp3's on it.
I even had a couple of movies, TV shows, and video games on there too.
I finally decided it would be better to just go out and buy a stand-alone mp3 player that works very well than to get one device that attempts to do a little bit of everything.

No matter who leaves M$, the zune is still the shit, I love it. I dont care about competing with ipod, I just love my zune. I can listen to FM at the GYM, and I can send files to my friends and shit, and transferring the music and video to it is sooo fast.

The latest Maximum PC magazine (Feb. '07) gave the Zune a 6 out of 10. Here is what they said about the wireless transfer,
"One of the most hyped features is its ability to wirelessly transfer tracks (and pictures) to another Zune. Don't get too excited about the music-sharing half of this equation: You can transfer tracks you've purchased or ripped, but the recipient can play them just three times; the tracks expire after three days whether they've been played or not, and they can't be resent to the same player (although we've heard of a hack that disables this limitation). The Zune's wireless-networking capabilities are more interesting, but you're limited to streaming digital audio, video, and photos to Xbox 360 consoles sitting on your wireless network.

The Zune's not a terrible first effort- -it sounds good and Microsoft outfitted it with a fine screen--but it seems to us that the features that could have set it apart from Apple's iPod are really designed only to tie the Zune's users into buying other Microsoft products."

- Michael Brown

You couldn't give me either a Zune or an Ipod. Fuck all of that proprietary Itunish bullshit. I'm a Creative Vision: M man until something better comes along.

u can say that each has its own craft in innovation....Mac has the market selling MP3 players for the most part, Windows has xbox, and its overzealous windows OS... so basically one capitalizes in one thing and not the other...

yeah i have the creative vision:m too... best investment in mp3 ever....got it for $170.... no bad

Learn something about sound. All MP3's have shitty quality it has nothing to do with the host.

The point is that if you don't see a difference, why even buy a PREMIUM mp3 player....you could've gone Iriver or Creative for the same "shitty" mp3 experience.

Oh shit, my bad....I forgot you were a trail blazer. Ignore what I wrote.

So if you say the host plays no part in sound quality, why even buy a new mp3 player that costs the exact same price???
