Microsoft Is Cut Again! Downgraded By FBR

Thank HP, Dell, Acer etc.

Does not fucking matter dude. The windows OS is out there and OSX is not. Bet if it was the other way around you would be giving apple all the props. Fuck out of here with that shit. Real recognize real and you're looking pretty strange right now.

well since no one seemed to come up with an answer......

the ONLY reason windows is labled unreliable is because windows has to fit thousands of different configurations. how many different hardware vendors make windows devices??? right.

so given all of these different configurations it is a ridiculous task to make all of the 100% bug free. and that is not on microsoft, per se. it is really up to the developers to make sure that they are properly certified and run the os properly. (random security issues notwithstanding)

that is also why you will see a different mobile os for windows phone 7. m$'s specs are stringent if a hardware vendor wants to make a phone for that os. i have set in on a few developer meetings and windows phone 7 does have some catching up to do out of the gate. but by next summer there may yet be another shift in the mobile os market. (and i still don't care for the tiles, but i understand the design choice.)

Thats somewhat true, however it's not an impossible feat to accomplish. Also, the chaos in multiple configurations is also due to Microsoft's previous lack of leadership and innovation in the industry. Many of these configuration came about as a response to Microsoft's short comings. And as a result Microsoft ends up playing catch up and often does so in a bloated, rushed, heavy handed way.

Also from a general consumer standpoint, Microsoft has some of the best developers and programmers in the world. The problem is, until recently they had those same developers and programmers creating and designing products for general consumers. There's a problem when a 10 page configuration wizard (full of cryptic file names and tech lingo) is your idea of making something "easy to use".

Microsoft's current state is directly a result of Microsoft, not necessarily Apple's (or any other companies) success. Apple designed their business to be successful regardless of what Microsoft is doing. Microsoft on the other hand rely's on market domination and lack of competition to be successful (which is becoming less and less the reality of the computer industry).

this..

Im not defending shit. I could give a fuck less about Microsoft and the feeling is mutual. Im stating that you have an obvious mental illness that needs to be assessed. Unless you have stock in Microsoft, or Sony this shouldnt matter to a sane individual. Obsessing over companies you have no financial interest in to this extent is psychotic behavior.

oh how cute.. your defending microsoft again...

you fail to realize my favoritism toward apple and sony has nothing to do with microsoft. i hate microsoft cause they are a shit company. that's why i said in the slate thread that the cisco tablet running android is of interest cause i know cisco is a brand name i can rely on and android is a software that received positive feedback, microsoft not so much.

but hey, you keep defending ballmer and microsoft.

How about market share... Clown?

Apple doesn't need help boosting sales. They are coming off record quarters.

:hmm: sept 2010. how much does a record quarter mean if your competition owns over 90 percent of the market.

Yeah he thinks companies are going to start building Hackintosh computers for their business to use OSX or some shit? Shit companies have the money to buy macs now but they are not. Why would they build shit they have to hack to use OSX? They want and are using windows now get over it.

Apple's growing place in the enterprise

October, EuroFinance, Geneva: Forget the old myth that Apple isn't big in the corporate and enterprise sectors. It isn't true. In the new global dynamic, in which Adobe and Microsoft ponder a merger which would never have made it past competition regulators even five years ago, Apple is the new force. How do I know? This isn't just about market valuation on AAPL stock; this is about the people who run those markets.

I was in Geneva last week at a key international event, a hugely corporate gathering of treasurers, bankers, chief financial officers. These people are conservative and they roll with big, big, big money. Ths isn't the place you'd expect to see iPads as competition prizes or iPhones everywhere -- and sometimes a BlackBerry in one hand, an iPhone in another. That was the pattern at the event.

You could argue this is purely cosmetic. It is not. The evolution of the mobile smartphone apps ecosystem has these most staid of business professionals excited.

They understand this desperately-connected mobility may be of use as they jet between destinations on their interminable quest to ensure prudent and powerful cash control, effective risk management and corporate governance of the essential root of corporate life, the treasury.

Evidence is everywhere here.

:hmm:

this is the no spin zone. how much more marketshare can m$ get without being labled a monopoly.

Apple is expanding into different markets (and successfully creating markets when needed)... the future is more than just about desktop OS's. The topic of this thread is about M$ stock being degraded. M$ is just about as short sighted as you are.. it;s pretty obvious. That is why Apple has surpassed M$ in market cap.

The same analogy can be used with BMW and Toyota. BMW has a much smaller market share than Toyota, but BMW makes much better cars and they are priced out of the range of those who can only afford Toyotas.

Windows is just not a good product.

divine u do recognize that the pie chart is for all operating systems standard or mobile, right???

:smh:

funny when folks are presented with hard numbers and are still in denial.

Yea you are.. since you've yet to address the reality.

Yea you are.. since you've yet to address the reality.

where are these bountiful emerging markets that you are referring to? who doesn't own a m$ product in some way shape or form?

anytime we get into it i son you with the quickness.

gtfowtbs!

unlike you i actually do this for a living. i know how shit works and what works. i live and breathe this shit daily. :smh: @ divine.

tablets, Internet TV

sigh.

when osx become the standard of the fortune 500 perhaps m$ will have something to worry about.

until then gtfowtbs!

m$ is well too intrenched in the digital infrastructure of most of the world as evidenced by the pie chart that you keep ignoring.

any change to a different os will require massive restructuring of what has been the standard for the last 30 years. not going to happen.

that is the reality.

^^ Like I told you before.. The reason why MS is devaluing is because they are short sighted just like you are.

tablets, Internet TV

oh. and m$ has had tablets for years. they just never pushed them.

oh. and m$ has wmc that most htpc's run (i run a couple of wmc machines and have been doing it since 2004). they just don't push it. once again please beat it.

m$ has been doing this stuff and will keep doing it. they are not lacking the tech. they just put more resources toward other areas.

tablets, Internet TV

internet tv is garbage unless u get stuff illegaly and tablets are just a fad. Tablets are just a cute accessory for people to search the net and are ignored when people want to do actually work on a real computer.

bullshit.

you speak yet you do know that the fuck you are talking about.

i am in on M$ new tech meetings at least twice a month. they know that they are doing.

they know that they are currently behind the curve in certain areas but they are spending MASSIVE amounts of cash in order to eclipse that curve.

there are some truly innovative events on the horizon. for real.

i was just at a windows phone 7 developers event a few weeks ago. i was a HUGE windows phone 7 skeptic. and i still am to an extent. but i now understand why they made the decisions that they made. by next christmas unless apple comes up with something sweet next july it is going to be a helluva android, windows, apple race in the mobile market.

oh and by the way, i won a limited edition halo reach xbox 360-S at the event. that and the wealth of info there was well worth my two days there.

for sure.

bullshit.

only time will tell we will see in another 2 years. Even Steve jobs himself said he didnt want to put a touch screen on his new computers because its just not ergonomically comfortable. Right now its just a cool device to have, well according to the media

You do understand that the problem is not necessarily what Microsoft is doing, its HOW Microsoft is doing it. Your table argument is a perfect example.

Given Microsoft has had tablets for years, why werent they selling?
You mean those laptops with swivel screens that you would flip around and use with a stylus werent appealing to consumers???

Given Microsoft has had smartphones for years, why werent they selling?
Youre telling me that your typical consumer couldnt navigate through Windows mobile, configure their wifi connection (encryption key and all), search the web, download, sync, and install their own apps (that is if it wasnt a virus), and use task manager to maintain performance.

Their biggest problem for a long time, is they didnt know how to make products for consumers because all their products were being designed and developed by techs and programmers. Consumers bought them because they had no choice, but that has changed. And Microsoft only RECENTLY started changing this approach when they started recruiting designers and artist from Nike, Apple, and other large companies.

Just think about it. Do you have any idea the inexplicable number of industries Microsoft has delved into over the years? Everything from gaming, communications, robotics, automotive, the list goes on! And guess what? Their biggest sellers are only Windows (given its 10+ year strong hold on the computer industry due to lack of competition), Office (their best software product in my opinion), and Xbox (small market only 2 other competitors, and they had a 9 month head start on Sony).

Now I'm really not hating on Microsoft, but trust me if they didnt have deep pockets, the news today would be "Microsoft goes under", rather than "Microsoft Downgraded by FBR". And its only gonna get worse when Google jumps into the OS business (unless they do something... right).

man. believe me. they know this and they are putting hella resources to fix it. trust.
