I hear what you guys are saying, but. It's not easy to pick up and move 50+ miles worth of one's shit to another state. I don't think you grasp the magnitude of Disney's footprint in Orlando and surrounding areas. I'm speaking from the perspective of an individual that has knowledge of the innerworkings. My company has been one of many Disney subcontractors for the better part of 25 years. Trust when I tell you, that these folks aren't going anywhere. In fact, there are several multi-million-dollar expansion projects that just received RCID permitting and the green light from Iger himself. But, what do I know.
Disney isn't going to dismantle everything and move. If anything they'll build new shit in NC and stop operating in FL and sell off what they have. This wouldn't be a quick move, but something that would take years.
Yeah, they have a huge footprint in Orlando....what makes you think if they show interest, and North Carolina gives them tax incentives, that they won't consider it?
Yeah, it would be easier to ice DeKlantis than move, but considering they have all the money in the world, I wouldn't put it past them taking the hacksaw and chopping FL off their parks list, Bugs Bunny style and bouncing to NC.
Disney World's footprint is 43 square miles or 27,520 acres. If they get that or more in NC with their own government body....they are out. Especially considering they'll be the only game in town.
Right now Disney has to compete with SeaWorld, Universal, Busch Gardens, the beaches in Florida....
A Disney World in North Carolina would make them the only game in town.
If Florida keeps fucking around, they will find out in about ten years that the mouse don't play.
