Fuck him! Disgusting piece of unredeemable shit. Guarantee he doesn't know any black people, repeating shit he heard on right wing media. It was what attracted him to it in the first place. Anybody who has been around both white and black people know that black people have the most impeccable hygiene. I remember when my boy's sister became the manager of the state employment office in rural Michigan. We helped her move and it totally wasn't what I was expecting. A level of poverty like the inner city. I remember about 20 years ago my friends and I were considering buying a little property in rural Michigan, a vacation home. We talked to one guy who owned one and he told us how he couldn't keep anything in it, the cabin was constantly being broken into. Motherfuckers were stealing the fixtures. I have since heard stories like this numerous times. No black people within a 100 miles.

Not sure if it's known outside of Michigan but this tweet explains it. A lot of these "up North" cabin owners are Big 3 line workers or skill trades. The UAW and skilled trades unions are full of right wing fanatics who owe their high income to their unions but white resentment supersedes everything else. White guys have skilled trades on locked down in the auto factories.

I knew this was gonna happen, everybody was supporting that “two week lockdown” thinking that the virus was gonna magically disappear in that time. Now that it has stretched for a month they’re talking that our rights/liberties shit. If these governors come out and extend the stay at home order you’re gonna see more and more of these protests. Here in Alabama they’ve already started talking about it on Facebook if the governor doesn’t open up the state in 2 weeks

Michigan senator apologizes for Confederate flag mask, says it was a misunderstanding

A Michigan state senator apologized for wearing a Confederate flag mask to the statehouse on Friday, calling the incident “an error in judgment.”

When confronted about the face covering, state senator Dale Zorn initially denied that it was a Confederate flag pattern, and told WLNS that it depicted either the Tennessee or Kentucky flag.

Zorn went on to say, “even if it was a Confederate flag, you know, we should be talking about teaching our national history in schools and that’s part of our national history and it’s something we can’t just throw away because it is part of our history. And if we want to make sure that the atrocities that happened during that time doesn’t happen again, we should be teaching it. Our kids should know what that flag stands for.”

During the interview, Zorn is wearing a different mask. Asked where the Confederate mask went, Zorn says he left it in the senate chambers. He also told WLNS the mask was made by his wife.

Both the Michigan House and Senate had convened Friday to “form a joint committee to oversee and question the state’s coronavirus (COVID-19) response” and “vote in both chambers on a bill that would repeal the 1945 law that Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer said gives her emergency powers,” according to WDIV-TV.

Zorn, a Republican, apologized on Twitter Saturday for what he had worn to the statehouse, saying “I’m sorry for my choice of pattern.”

“I did not intend to offend anyone; however, I realize that I did, and for that I am sorry. Those who know me best know that I do not support the things this pattern represents,” his tweet said.

“My actions were an error in judgment for which there are no excuses and I will learn from this episode.”

Many on social media expressed anger or disappointment, including fellow Michigan lawmaker Jeff Irwin.

“The Confederate flag should never be worn, especially by an elected official,” Irwin said. “It dishonors our fellow Michiganders. It dishonors the battle flags in our rotunda. It dishonors our state.”

Opinion: Trump actually wants Michigan's governor to 'make a deal' with armed protesters

Protesters, several of them carrying semiautomatic rifles, swept into the state Legislature chamber in Lansing, Mich., Thursday in the second such action by people there who are upset with Michigan’s stay-at-home directives.

How did the president of the United States respond? By urging Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer to “make a deal” with the armed protesters.

Let’s see, the president thinks “angry” armed men descending on a legislative session making demands are “very good people.”

First, what does being good or not good have to do with such an over-the-top attempt to intimidate?

And second, since when is it a good idea for the president of the United States to encourage political leaders to cave in to demands by armed protesters?

Note that this came about two weeks after Trump urged similar throngs in Michigan, Minnesota and Virginia to “LIBERATE” their states and in the case of Virginia, to “save your great 2nd Amendment. It is under siege!"

Clearly the president isn’t thinking. Or maybe he is and, as usual, thinking only about his own interests.

Trump won Michigan by a trigger-thin margin in 2016, and current polls in that vital swing state have Trump trailing presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden by about 6 percentage points.

It seems Trump's little tariff tiffs have taken quite a toll in Michigan, still the heart of the American auto industry, to the tune of $1.9 billion, according to one estimate. The auto and steel industries were shedding jobs even before the current economic crisis. Remember, these were the prime manufacturing jobs that Trump promised to bring back.

And the federal government’s sinfully slow and inadequate response to the coronavirus crisis also likely lurks in the minds of people in a state with nearly 4,000 COVID-19 deaths and about 40,400 reported cases.

So what’s a cynical manipulator like Trump to do?

Fan the flames of discontent among right-wing extremists even if they are embracing their 1st Amendment right to petition their government by embracing what they view as their 2nd Amendment right to bear arms — even if it is in a legislative chamber.

And you have to wonder if the Michigan Legislature may be rethinking its rule allowing firearms to be carried openly in the Capitol. Conducting the public’s business under watch by armed extremists doesn’t seem like a particularly democratic way of getting things done.

These CACs are loving the fact that they can now wear masks to shit like this.
