In the '89 Superbowl against the Bunguls, the 9ers were down 13-16 with ~30 seconds left on the clock at the 18 yard line. The system is dependent on the QB and vice versa. For example the last QBs to run Bill Walsh's system to perfection was Montana and Steve Young. Favre to a bastardized extent.
