Michael Wilbon drops N-bomb ON AIR

I agree 100% with what you saying. Buy that last line.....PAY ATTENTION is a whopper

think about this though..... It's not just the N-word they trying to do away with, it's ALL offensive language on the field. The rule is not just about one word. But let the media tell it, it's ALL about the n-word They pulling the wool over our eyes man. Look at what's on the horizon for the NFL:

so ask yourself, is this REALLY about the n-word, or is it about the g-word (gay) or f-word (fag)? That's what pisses me off about it. The timing of this shit. They been saying nigga in the NFL for years now. YEARS. now they decided to clean up the language? NOW? gee, I wonder why :hmm: the LGBT community is already frothing at the mouth (no homo) at the thought of the co defensive SEC player of the year not getting drafted and what they will do and how they will fuck with the NFL and their $$$$$. Let him not get drafted and see what happen.

Yeah I'll agree that it's somewhat about us using it and them not being able to use it without getting bitch slapped into another time zone by a respectable black man. But that dude above and the organization of that OTHER community he's apart of, that's what this is really about.

That's part of it. Because someone will say.. we can't say faggot but we can say nigga. so they are trying to protect that lawsuit shit. that's all it is.

so if I work at IBM and can't say the n word, it's because they want to control my culture? The rule is all offensive words so not saying a gay slur is attacking my culture?

It is if they've been saying nigga at IBM for over 40 years and now suddenly there's a problem with it.

All the changes the game has made in 40 years and none has been language on the field. now suddenly it is. and yes if you haven't noticed they all try to control our culture because it is the most influential.

Niggas (that's what I said) will never learn.

They actually think white folk are pushing this debate for OUR benefits.

Just like those dumb assed black women thought those forums were meant to improve their love lives...lol.

That's the entire problem.
when have they ever done anything proactively for our benefit?

NEVER.

and both can be right.

there can be some of us who say it and some of us who don't

NONE of it is an excuse or an out for them to say it.

they said it when we didn't so anyone making that argument automatically loses.

They just want to control it. and shame people publicly.

Not the clip i expected. He actually used the word with the hard ER a few days ago. It was during a rant against the nfl and Goodell for trying to control what black men call each other.

For some of you guys every other word out your mouths is the "N-bomb." So why is Wilbon quoting someone elses statement such a big issue? Its not its his job to report whats supposedly deemed newsworthy.

That's part of it. Because someone will say.. we can't say faggot but we can say nigga. so they are trying to protect that lawsuit shit. that's all it is.

Yeah but the timing on its presentation to the competition committee and the arrival of the first openly gay NFL player go hand in hand IMO.

It's as much about one (Michael Sam) as it is the other (control).

Nothing to see here. He was just being honest. That's how some cats talk.

This is just getting crazy now. Wooten was on talk radio in Cleveland today and said he doesn't even want rap played in the locker rooms.

I used to make excuses for it, saying that it was a term of endearment. I used to feel like that back in the 90s maybe early 2000's I wised up. To hear somebody his agent he is 50 51 52 or something like that, to hear someone his age say that it's okay, it's a term of endearment is a little disheartening. I don't use it at all, and my friends know not to use around me. When they slip up I give him a piece of my mind and they're like " alright man"

as much as I would like to get rid of the word, too many people use it to frequently for the word to be going anywhere. And some people I believe, use it just to be going against the grain

Dude...my grandparents say "nigga" all the time. This is a non-issue for blacks...the only people with the issue are whites who wish they could use the word because of the way blacks have popularized it. The way Wilbon and black people like my grandparents use the word is not in a racist context. Why can't people understand this?

When they cannot control it
they want to destroy it. Make it unacceptable for anyone to use it.

just watching this shit is FUNNY

they're not attacking the white people who said the shit

they're attacking the black people for saying it and not allowing white people to do it.

pay attention.

:yes::yes::yes:

The point is that it can be both and both can be right. You don't have to use it.. I don't use it.. but I'm not gonna sit here and say the others who use it in those contexts can't use it.

It doesn't give white people a pass to use it if we do because they used it FIRST and when we weren't using it they did. The issue is they can't use it and they don't want anyone else to use it.

and regardless of however you feel about the word us using it does not give them an out to try to use it or control its use.

that's it. That is exactly it. I was searching for the reason my head and I could not find that reason. That truth to why exactly why they were doing this. Thank you this is the truth. This is been discussed since we began using it as a term of endearment, why can't we use it? It was up little snippet on TV shows, on movies. They want to be able to use it too and don't like being banned from using it so they want to make it so nobody can use it.

What part of this doesn't anyone understand.

Its simple.

Yet NO ONE (other then Jemele Hill) has stated it so simply.

Even Wilbon hasn't been so direct ...although he does say regular he will be damned if a white person dictates what he can say around his friends and family.

They cowards...they just can't accept being left out...and being unable to say that word without any repercussions.

I wonder why they weren't so bothered when WE couldn't drink out the same fountain or swim in the same pool?

THEIR response was that's just the way it is.

So my response to THEM?

Its just the way it is...deal with it.

Al Sharpton's pandering; not shocking but still :smh:
