Michael Rapaport Responds To Q-Tip's Documentary Greivances

But do you understand where Q-tip is coming from??

yeah, except that he is talking like he signed the documentary contract when he was 16, as opposed to being a full grown, entertainment industry veteran who supposedly has some savvy...

Michael Rapaport full of shit he knew what Q tip was talking about stop letting these white muthafuckas tell black people stories. I actually liked the Documentary but the beef shit was focused on to much. Michael Rapaport trying to be a film maker that cac always been a dick rider how can I be down cracker. It is some Culture Vulture shit ultimately. I would like to see the Little X's of the world start getting into this type of work. I wonder how much it cost to make the Doc.

Q-Tip's a bitch

Why did he agree to it in the first place

Docs aren't about "agreeing." If you wanna do a soft-ass publicity film then just go talk to your public relations man and hire some simp to do it. REAL documentaries aren't about satisfying the subject.

I'm sorry that Rapaport is even addressing Q-Tip at all. He should tell him to fuck off, and be thankful for the attention.

Here’s what’s being reported this morning, that came from Rapaport’s mouth:

”I’m not reaching out to him anymore about this… The movie version Q-Tip thinks should be coming out would be going straight to DVD… Spike Lee would have told A Tribe Called Quest to kiss his f-ing ass and take a f-ing walk… I appeased them, worked with them, tried to hear their point of view on things… You’re not Jay-Z, you’re not Kanye West… I intended to make an independently produced documentary about my favorite group, and that’s what I did. The reason I made the movie was out of a good place. And I was fair.”

u sound confused and naive as fuk.

somebody is a good film maker or he's not. your race won't help you make a better film cause all black folks do NOT have the same experiences. and that's why we had so many fuked up 'black' films in the mid 90s. companies were just givin films to black 'writers' and 'directors' that didn't know what tha fuk they were doin instead of to the proven black professionals with talent.

hollywood thought 'HEY! HE'S BLACK! THAT'S THE HOT THING NOW ANYWAY SO LET'S MAKE HIS PICTURE!'. and you sound just like um :smh: fuk if the dude was good enough or earned his spot through hard work or talent.

and 'the beef' wasn't focused on 2 much. it was a documentary. it wasn't supposed to be some propaganda love fest about q tip. you show as much as you can in the time allotted and hope for the best reception possible

I wasn't sure what Q-Tip meant either. Was he talking about outsiders telling their story or white people? Because this is the most attention Tribe has received in the past 13 years. Instead of using it to gain new fans and further his solo career, dudes bitching.

Considering the group broke up and had constant turmoil, what did you expect to see...90 minutes of concert footage

Very good point you bring up. Perfectionists are their worst enemies. At the end of the day, I just want to celebrate the music and career Tribe had.

All the bickering is bullshit. I respect Rappaport for doing the movie

I agree.....

I wonder what a sincere white person would have to do to be accepted as genuine?

i can't roll with Tip on this one...Who Stopped him from telling his own story:confused: If he is that unhappy with it then why tell ppl to go see it:confused:.
