But let me say this - I am not a crab in the barrel person and I love Spike Lee - his movies and his success - He is and will always be my brother and when I see him I give him a dap and a whats up.
So I regret these post because I think what I wanted to construe and what has come across is antithetical to what I feel -

Over the period of time that I would have like Spike to have been involved in this - he was dealing with making a movie about Katrina, he made a movie about the 4 Little Girls in Birmingham - he has spoken about race issues and has taken a much broader stand on issues I wholeheartedly agree with him about
So as I state earlier - no he hasn't spoken out much about gentrification in Brooklyn but he has spoken about inequity particularly racial inequity in all aspects of life - So I will go from the micro to the macro in appreciating Spike Lee and I will rescind my earlier statement and once again respect the brother for all he has done over his 30+ year career.
