The feud between filmmakers Spike Lee and Michael Rapaport continues.

In the most recent round, during a visit to HuffPost Live Tuesday, Rapaport called Lee a "shit stain" who is playing the race card when he discusses gentrification in New York.

He also had some choice words for Lee's filmmaking.

"When's the last Spike Lee film you saw?" Rapaport asked host Marc Lamont Hill. "Nobody goes to see them shits."

Rapaport came by to talk about his new film, "My Man Is A Loser," but spent most of the time addressing Lee, who during a May interview on HuffPost Live called Rapaport "stupid" and said he "doesn't know what he's fucking talking about." Lee also discounted Rapaport's talents as a director, to which Rapaport fired back Tuesday, "I’m going to see him sooner or later... I wanna see you say 'you’re stupid and your movie sucks' right to my face."

Lee's words came in response to Rapaport saying a month earlier that Spike Lee had no business talking about Brooklyn's gentrification since Lee lives on the Upper East Side.

The two New York natives began sparring when Rapaport criticized a now-famous rant Lee delivered in February about gentrification in Brooklyn.

These white dudes with honorary nigga cards are the worst types :smh:

I agree with Spike 100% Rappoport is in over his head he should shut the fuck up

So... this butt-hurt CAC sparked beef with Spike in defense of gentrification and somehow thinks he's gonna punk Spike when he sees him? :hmm:

I was just about this as a Cacs Cacing...

and ummm what in the f*ck does Spike's movies being bad or good have to do with this topic?

Michael Rapaport Calls Spike Lee a "S--- Stain" During Gentrification Feud

A feud grows in Brooklyn! Michael Rapaport continued his ongoing gentrification battle with Spike Lee, calling the famous director a "s--- stain" on HuffPost Live Tuesday, July 22. The stars' public debate over the topic of Brooklyn's shifting population began in the spring when Rapaport slammed an epic rant delivered by Lee back in February.

"Spike lives on the Upper East Side [in Manhattan]," Rapaport, who appeared in Lee's 2000 movie Bamboozled, sniffed of the director while appearing on HuffPost Live in April. "The majority of those neighborhoods that have been gentrified have been abandoned… It's good that it gets better."

Lee, one of Brooklyn's most famous natives, refused to back down when he caught wind of Rapaport's comments.

"Rapaport doesn't know what the f--- he's talking about," he told HuffPost Live in May. "What Michael Rappaport left out… because he's stupid… [are] the people who could no longer afford to live in Williamsburg. Who could no longer afford to live in Fort Greene. Who could no longer afford to live in Clinton Hill."

The Do the Right Thing director, 57, added: "People are being displaced, and they never talk about the people who are forced to live outside of their neighborhoods because of gentrification!"

(In his famous rant from February, Lee said newcomers in the Brooklyn borough should be more respectful towards longtime residents. "I'm for democracy and letting everybody live but you gotta have some respect. You can’t just come in when people have a culture that’s been laid down for generations and you come in and now s--- gotta change because you’re here? Get the f--- outta here!")

While Rapaport, 44, had every intention of promoting his new film, My Man Is a Loser, on Tuesday, instead, he spent the vast majority of the segment slamming Lee.

"When's the last Spike Lee film you saw?" Rapaport remarked. "Nobody goes to see them s---s." He hypothetically imagined what he would say to the legendary director if they were to ever run into each other face to face.

"I'm going to see him sooner or later," Rapaport said, directly challenging Lee: "I wanna see you say 'You're stupid and your movie sucks' right to my face."

Spike lives on the upper east side. Upper East side. Do you know what UES represents? Spike earned his money and got the fuck outa dodge. No different than Mitt Romney talking about the troops and not one of his 654 grandchildren are enlisyed.

Do you realize there are people that have more money than Spike Lee that live in Brooklyn? Spike Lee didnt have faith in Brooklyn the way many others have and if he was in Brooklyn and cared about it so much - he could have been involved with people who were fighting the gentrification at the time (15 years ago) instead of talking about it now that it all but over.

I dont care about manufactured celebrity feuds but Spike has little credibility on the issue of gentrification.

thats also a bullshit strawman argument..

where you live now doesn't mean you can't speak on what you know.

I grew up in the bricks have family there and still spend much of my time there but i don't live there...should that mean i forgot what it is ? and what people that remain there go through ?

spoke was born and raised in brooklyn and knows brooklyn her people and what is being done there.

fuck it matter where he lives ?

how do you know he wasn't fighing it with the people 15 years ago ?

only difference is now spike is interviewed by main stream media.

Fuck outta here, b. Spike Lee having a crib on UES doesn't negate his position on gentrification. You know how stupid that sounds: you cannot talk about the gentrification of an area unless you live/stay in the area? That's an idiotic retort coming from a butt-hurt kike faggot defending fuckery on some personal shit.

10-1 if you're a fly on the wall when this CAC is talking about Spike behind closed doors in 'polite' (white) company, he's not sticking strictly to his publicly stated talking points. His arguments were nothing, but conjecture, ad hominem attacks, and equivocations.

Yes, gentrification impacts people of all races due to economics, but since Blacks are most often at the bottom of the economic rung, gentrification disproportionately impacts them (us) to a far greater degree than this jackasses social demo. He's full of shit.

So Spike has no credibility because he no longer lives there? He isn't allowed an opinion on people being displaced merely because he is not one of them? That makes no fucking sense.

And if Rappaport really did use the term "race card" then he truly needs his fucking ass kicked.

First off, Spike has a BROWNSTONE in BK
He also has a spot on the upper east side too.
What's wrong with that? Cause you move to a different
part of NYC you're magically disqualified from talking
about gentrification?
That statement makes no sense at all
Then he takes personal shots at Spike? Why?
has nothing to do with the issue.
Punk Ass Cac

Do you realize Spike's dad still lives in Fort Greene on 165 Washington Park? Do you think Spike doesn't still frequent BK or pay a red cent for his father to live there? Just like Michael Rapaport you're firing off a series of rhetorical questions and baseless accusations about what Spike is or isn't doing for BK, but where is your proof that he's not? :dunno: Spike has been reppin' BK and the issues there since the start of his film career. What are you talking about 15 years ago? :hmm:

spike was born and raised in brooklyn

Spike Lee was born in Atlanta, Georgia, the son of Jacqueline Carroll (née Shelton), a teacher of arts and black literature, and William James Edward Lee III, a jazz musician and composer.

At the end of the video Rapaport basically admits that he doesnt even know much about gentrification. So basically he just personally dislikes spike like most Cacs do and used this issue as a reason to talk shit. As long as spike continues to speak his mind and refuse to play the game cacs will hate him till the day he dies.

This.

Niggas overlook the blatant duplicities with Spike just because a white boy called him out.

But Errol Louis called him on the same shit.

I am not going to get in a back and forth over this issue but 15 year ago - black people who lived in Fort Greene/Clinton Hill Prospect Heights and other communities - were meeting with elected officials, small landlords and homeowners to stave off gentrification. I know that people were asked to participate in teh conversation - Rosie Perez (who still lives in the neighborhood) was front and center along with others - were actively involved -

So all I am saying is that at that time the percentage of blacks in the neighborhood was close to 70% now its 40% - this is not a joke or a sound bite for some people.

I don't know what you consider "front and center," but you said Spike wasn't speaking on the issue 15 years ago and he was.

When he was a child, the family moved to Brooklyn, New York

so he was raised in brooklyn.

big problem with cats like you is you very seldom see the point because you too busy looking for the mistake.

I never liked this CAC after watching Bamboozled. Seemed like he enjoyed playing his role a lil too much.

You realize he lived in BK & talks about how he moved out of security for his family...him living there caused too much of a problem.
