would you pay to see a hologram concert of your fave artist?

IMO once they get the tech really stable and smooth (like the way they got tablet tech stable and smooth) I could see local theaters and clubs having Holo concerts and bands perform in their venues.

Technology can't create what Michael Jackson can do. It was a cool little video but the energy and magnetism that Jackson had wasn't there in person. It was on the record but not on the performance.

True. It's all sad really, considering that his death could have been prevented if he wasnt surrounded by "yes" men that kept his addiction going.. :smh:

this was pretty damn good, they'll never capture mikes magic in a hologram but this was good enough...

- i follow chuck on twitter and saw this...can't ride w/him on this one

there's actual demand for this type of thing though, they'll want elvis and the beatles next...

not everything is greedy exploitation...if there is demand for something, and they have the technology to do it, then you do it. that's business 101.

Being a huge MJ fan, I loved seeing it. At the same time, certain things threw it off and took away from the enjoyment of it. It was the same way with the Pac hologram, yea we were seeing him, but he ain't move quite right. Though I thought it was just all computer, with his moves lifted from past performances, I found out that there was a person hooked up to wires and probes and crap doing the actual motions. Then I was like "ohhhhhhh, so that's what the problem is."

With Michael, they needed to have this down to a science, since his every move he made was key to his performance. What is Michael without movement? I wasn't even watching the awards, but my Moms called and said they're about to do a MJ holo on it. SO of course I quickly turn it on. Off the dump I'm studying. Naturally looking for anything not quite right. 50 years from now anything will be fine, but we grew up watching this cat, right? First thing I notice is his face wasn't quite right. I wouldn't say this anywhere in person because then a whole new debate takes over. But like someone posted earlier, I thought it was an impersonator, because how can a computer not get the face right with unlimited amounts of data. So I said fuck it, that's not what I'm worried about.

First couple seconds were okay. Then he started walking, big fail. Mike had this gangsta (not the pimp limp) walk when performing like he just knew he was the man. Then just as I knew, the moonwalk happened :smh:. No man, that wasn't even as good as his first Motown 25 moonwalk. We all know Mike evolved that thing into 'a whole nother other'. He really used to be floatin on some shit. Then dude did the toe stand and pointed at his feet . WTF was that? Then it dawned on me, whoever is doing the moves is on some "hey y'all remember these classics?" shit.

All in all it was something to see. But I feel like they shoulda done my dude betta than that. You can best believe once they do the Elvis one a mofo betta not miss a step. Be buried alive in the Vegas desert somewhere.

You do realize they just put out a CD called Xscape, right? How is this not greedy exploitation? Its PROMOTION. Promotion = exploitation. They didn't do it so they could not sell those CD/DVD packages at Target/Walmart/etc.
For the record, I don't believe for one second that MJ would have collaborated with that punk ass Justin Timberlake after he fucked his sister over like he did. I think he would have told him he would and strung his punk ass along.

surprised they havent talked of resurrecting that "This Is It" show..then again the Hologram INC lawsuit is blocking all this stuff from happening

They should have debuted it at the superbowl but they probably had just enough to do one song really good rather than a mini concert.

The should have "Light" Michael and "Dark" Michael do a duet - like Off the Wall or Wanna Be Startin Something -

Then I am done with Holograms -

Fitting name for the song considering it appears as if Michael Jackson's ghost is a "Slave to the Rhythm."....greedy ass fucks can't let the man's legacy RIP.

The Tupac hologram was cool because it was a quick performance of old songs, but this shit, I bet they make an entire show for that new album. Bunch of vultures.

I like the idea of keeping his music going.

Agreed..this will suffice for the average performer but NOT for Michael Jackson i'm sorry but it just won't do :smh: but for the average joe

yeah yeah Chuck D says that shit until they ask him to license his likeness and PEs for the new line CONCERT IN A BOX™!

In about 15-20 years they'll smooth out the tech on that shit and start offering 3D hologram concerts for public and private use.

Imagine having the Red Hot Chili Peppers hologram play at your teen kids back yard birthday party for 1000 bucks

Having Outkast hologram play at your block party

Marvin gaye perform After the Dance and 2- 3 albums worth of hits at your wedding.

All for under 2000 dollars a pop all over the country and world.

Chuck D will be 75 years old and Flav 80 and they STILL make money off of 3D hologram performances from their youth..then his tune will change:yes::lol:

again fellas, there is a demand for this stuff...the album is #1 all over the globe right now

Yeah ok you like it NOW but here's alittle food for thought..how will you feel when all of your favorite singers/performers will be worth more DEAD than ALIVE? DEAD men can't critique performances like Michael would have done until perfection..large companies would be tempted to pay you ONCE while alive then somehow you'd have a fatal accident or have you killed off..oops did I say killed off? what i meant was when your DEAD...ah when you DIE we won't have to pay them ahh YOU anymore.
Holograms can be played over and over for an indefinite number of times or years= uncontested money...all going one way

Yes it is and its even more sad if you look at the tragic way he died. Now hes a victim of exploitation in his death.

you think the MJ estate doesn't own that??

you guys act like the jackson family isn't in charge of that at all.

how is it any different from releasing greatest hits albums and packages like they have since forever?

You guys don't think Afeni Shakur had a say in how they used her son's likeness??
