My lil one woke up in a MJ mode today she was singing Dirty Diana.

Her - "Dad can u put tha song on your phone. Go To youtube type in Dirty Diana Michael Jackson..."

Me - "What do u know bout MJ"

Her - " We learn about him at school, plus sis say when she was my age she was crazy about him"
(That's when he die)

One of my favorite MJ song

What I find interesting is that the woman that plays Diana in the video died,a few months later after MJ.

Always wondered if that song title was in retaliation to Diana Ross putting MJ on blast. Seems she found him in her dressing room screwing around with her makeup. I felt she was wrong going public on something so personal.

I don't how deep the connection went to Diana Ross but according to how he treated his brothers and did business Mike could be pretty cold and vindictive.
But its also clear that he was influenced and copied alot of stuff he saw around him..

In 1983 Diana Ross performed a concert in Central Park for a taped Showtime special. Proceeds of the concert would be donated to build a playground in the singer's name. Midway through the beginning of the show, a torrential downpour occurred. Ross tried to keep on performing, but the severe weather required that the show be stopped. Ross urged the large crowd to exit the venue safely, promising to perform the next day.

It was a REALLY impressive moment to see how she kept a cool head and still performed with a thunder and lighting storm overhead and she's on a metal stage holding a mic.

Particularly how she used the wind as a personal effect for her performance.

I think Mike was REALLY impressed with that image as well which is probably why we see this image in Dirty Diana
In the last scene in the video it looks like he tried to recreate that shot from Diana Ross's concert.

Its the FIRST time we ever see Mike use wind effects like that. Coincidence???

How old is your daughter? It's crazy the impact this man's music had on people worldwide, of all ages. The song is decades old and still having an impact on the newer generations.

Weeknd did a cover of this.... It's one of my favorite songs of his, and the chopped & screwed version of Dirty Diana & Same Old Song

I never really listened to the lyrics of this song until the day he died.
Probably my favorite song.

Makes perfect sense....Unless he boned the Princess of England....

So who was Darling Nikki Prince sang about if you got that trivia too.?

jax was a self-hating, gay/homosexual pedophile.

can't overlook that.

his death, i believe, was a suicide.

lol. The song is about groupies and the wind effects are from movies. He was using them way before this video. Remember he idolized fred astaire and marcel marceau, if you look at any of their work you'll see where he got almost all his stuff.

The gifs are sped up for some reason cuz it looks like she's being blown off stage..lol but that was her trying to work with the conditions.

My parents took my to that concert. Shit was wild. That was when people didn't know about HIV. We were walking and some guy yells, "He got AIDS!" There was a small stampede of about 40 people running.
