ESPN is getting wacker and wacker. I liked Irvin simply b/c he would call out the typical white boy bullshit rhetoric that is often aloud to fly on these networks. Oh well, I'll just watch Fox or the NFL Network pregame show (I'm sure they have one coming).

I wonder what he did to make them cut him loose. ESPN is getting wack, though.

Yea, I wonder what was truly behind this too. They did Harold Reynolds kind of dirty IMO.

They don't have any competition as far as sports coverage, so in their eyes I guess it doesn't matter how booty some of the things they do are.

What's the difference btn the white sportscasters and the black sportscasters on ESPN? Damn near nothing. The white casters know how to do "Black face" so damn good if you close your eyes you almost can't tell the dif. Way back when ESPN injected clownin into their everyday routine they lost all cred. They can no longer just report a story, they gotta hype it with "New Jack Swing" in their swag. The shit's so pathetic that Chris Berman's dried up routine is almost a decent listen in comparison. ESPN is so far out in front of the curve they pokin themselves in the ass. Irvin was a decent face on an otherwise pasty faced 2 hours on Sundays and 90 mins on Mondays, even if he was all over TO's tampon. In his own warped way he tried to represent the "colorful" people in the NFL. Maybe his act got tired in the eyes of the ESPN moneybags. My guess? His contract expired and it wasn't renewed

I found this info at www.profootballtalk.com ... They had info on Irvin getting ran earlier this week

TUNA IN, IRVIN OUT IN BRISTOL

An industry source tells us that Bill Parcells has signed on with ESPN, and that Michael Irvin is out.

"It's done," said the source. "Rock solid."

Parcells, we're told, will be part of the 78-person Monday night crew, which is dispatched from Bristol on a weekly basis to bring grandeur to (and thus justify) the network's $1.1 billion per year investment in the MNF franchise.

As to Irvin, it's anyone's guess where he now lands. Maybe he'll retreat to FSN, which is where he rehabilitated his image after his playing career and before making the leap to Bristol.

Meanwhile, we assume that the Hall of Fame induction ceremonies will be televised once again by ESPN, which will make the day more than a little awkward, in our view.

Irvin is objectively likeable, but he is gratuitously controversial. His biases as an analyst are at times obvious to the point of laughable. Also, he was suspended in November 2005 for failing to disclose a recent arrest for possession of drug paraphernalia. In 2006, his musings regarding the possible presence of African-American DNA in Gomer Pyle-white Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo prompted a torrent of criticism that both the network and Irvin initially did their best to ignore.

Says a member of PFT Planet regarding the Parcells-for-Irvin swap: "Sweet Irony. Michael Irvin gets T.O. on the Cowboys. T.O. causes Bill Parcells to retire from Cowboys. Parcells takes Irvin's job at ESPN."

OK, I see the point with the Gomer Pyle comment, but with regards to the bolded...you could say that with any of these guys on the set. Especially Jaws.

Yeah they started all that shit after he got Stuart Scott a little fame outside ESPN. For the last two weeks everyday i've heard one of those white guys say "LETS THROWS SOME D's ON THIS" before a sports clip comes on, :smh:  :smh: . I thought it was funny when it first started a couple of years ago when Kenny Mayne started doing it but now its like they listen to a rap song and then just throw it anywhere in the show.

wow theyre replacing irvin with parcells

the show just went from boring to extremely boring

Who's gonna do the ass-kissing "T.O. is just misunderstood" interviews now? Loved him as a player. Hated him in the studio. No great loss to me.

Does kinda suck that they waited until now to do it though. "Congratulations! You're in the Hall of Fame....and you're fired."

please dont let that fool go coach @ thUg U.....please football gods!!!!!

X. Lee greastest unknown college qb......stop haten @ fsu & start him!!!
