Message to LeBron Haters: Was Jordan REALLY THAT much better than LeBron?

Let's go skill set wise..kobe was better than lbj in every way on the offensive end except passing and it's not close..on the defensive end lbj might be better but it's not overwhelming better...there's no way u or anyone else can say that lbj is without a shadow of doubt better than kobe from a skill set perspective..i think u reaching...

You're entitled to your opinion Bruh...

LeBron vs. Kobe:

Pts: 27.2 vs 25.0
Rbs: 7.2 vs 5.2
Ast: 6.9 vs 4.7
Stls: 1.7 vs 1.4
Blks: 0.8 vs .05

Totals: (and mind you, Kobe doesn't have the option of saying LeBron came in sooner because they both came in out of high school, and Kobe has at this point played more seasons and games)

LeBron vs. Kobe:

Pts: 26,833 vs 33,643
Rbs: 7,067 vs 7,047
Ast: 6,816 vs 6,306
Stls: 1,657 vs 1,944
Blks: 773 vs 640

Total Games: 987 vs 1,346

Percentages:

FG: 49.8% vs 44.7%
3pt: 34% vs 32.9%
FT: 74.4% vs 83.7%

Don't have time to post the playoff stats, but essentially its more of the same. You said Kobe was far the better offensive player, however LeBron out performs him in 8 categories, Kobe out perfoms LeBron in 3

Defensively, LeBron outperforms him in 3 and Kobe out performs him in 1.

In career totals, LeBron has passed kobe in Rbs, Asst, and Blocks, in at the time of these stats, 359 LESS games.

I still stand by my contention that LeBron was clearly the best player of his era, and nothing I've seen or that you've posted supports otherwise, especially as it applies to Kobe.

You know I go hard as fuck on LeBron with King T and them, but I'm objective Dude, and from where I'm sitting, there has been no one close to the player this Dude has been for the past 13-14 years. He is IMO without a doubt the best player, talent and skill wise in his era no question.

But bro you said you wasn't comparing stats.. skill set and stats are two different things..

LeBron is better than Kobe in every way. Kobe was a better FT shooter thats about it. Brons a better scorer, a better rebounder, better passer, better defender. And the numbers reflect that. Head to head he was 14-6 vs. Kobe with better stats as well. Post Kobe's #'s and we can compare.
@IT IS WHAT IT IS said he wasn't comparing stats when he said lbj was clearly the best player of his era..so if we are talking skill set..kobe is a better jump shooter, Kobe better post player, Kobe had more offensive moves, Kobe a better shooter from anywhere on court, Kobe has better footwork...no real nba scout executive player etc is going to say that lbj had/has a better skill set than kobe offensively...let's be clear..lbj is physically more gifted but skills, we not talking stats, Kobe is clearly better and it's not close...put down your man crush and let's have a serious discussion....

Your man crush on guards is showing. First Steph, then Mike, now Kobe.

Kobe as a guard has a nice array of moves, yet his shooting percentage shows he was more willing to take a lot of bad shots and isnt the scorer LeBron is. Thats a fact. Kobe is a more graceful scorer with his fadeaways and certain post moves but Bron is a better scorer and puts more pressure on a defense because he also can pass in certain situations. Most years Kobe didnt shoot 45% and never shot 50%. Brons done that 6 times so how is he a better scorer? Discounting math because it doesnt fit your reality is a feminine trait and stannish. Kobe was a better bad shot taker than LeBron but LeBron is a better offensive and defensive player.

I am a fan of both Jordan and Lebron, they both could be said to be the greatest of their "Era". They have and will never face each other on the court so everything else is speculation. With that said, Jordan's 6 rings put him a FEW in front of LeBron in that catagory.

:):D:yes:

But bro you said you wasn't comparing stats.. skill set and stats are two different things..
Skillset at some point translates into results and production Bruh. A player can have the prettiest form on a jumpshot but never make one and would never sniff the league. There were a lot of players esthetically more pleasing than LeBron but it doesnt make them better. Footwork and all, LeBron produced at a better rate in 'skill' categories than Kobe did...

LeBron was clearly the best player of his era.

Lebron has got the talent equal to Jordan's but he doesn't know how to win like Jordan. Jordan knew when to dominate the team play and when to fall back into a role player. Jordan was a constant threat at all times when on the floor.

Agreed. Ive said it before, the LeBron I saw against the Pistons 2007 was the best most dominant player Ive ever seen.

Is Klay Thompson a better shooter than LeBron James yes or no? Now does Lebron James average more points than klay Thompson yes or no?.. just because Klay has a better skill which is Jump shooting doesn't mean that he's going to have better stats than LBJ; skill set and stats are two different things...

You sir are more foolish by the day.. I'm not the one that said let's not compare stats.. again go back and reread the conversation that first started to understand what's going on... is Klay Thompson a better shooter than LeBron James yes or no? Shooting is a skill... does Lebron James average more points than Klay Thompson yes or no? A person's skillset does not always translate into stats.. a player can be vastly more skilled in areas then other players but still average less in certain statistical category that's a fact... and skills are easily identifiable.. Kobe's skills from offensive standpoint is easily better than LBJ and it's not even close...

I saw you going back and forth with King T and was kind of surprised because I usually find you to be objective.
Thanks for posting in this thread. I didn't realize the numbers were as such.

Agreed. Ive said it before, the LeBron I saw against the Pistons 2007 was the best most dominant player Ive ever seen.
I was watching that game as it happened.
Everytime down the floor this man found a way to score.
This Detroit team was one of the better, if not the best defensive team of that era.
They knew at some point LeBron was taking everything.
The still could not stop it.
I was watching with my crew and it was like,
damn! Then he scored the next five Damn! Next five DAmn! After a while it was like DAMN!!!!!!
We went full Florida Evans after a while.
I said right after that game was over, "Jordan is my favorite player, but he never did THAT as far as I can remember.

While I still view MJ as the GOAT, a lot of the over the top stuff with KingT is me fucking with him. LBJ is a phenomenal player and the most overall complete package physically Ive ever seen. He just wasnt the TOTAL complete package MJ was IMO

..and you are entitled to your opinion. You actually validated my point though. Thanks

bump!

Looking for a 40 points 10 assist game from Jordan in any of his 6 Finals appearances. Cant find it. Somebody help me out.

Both had their strong points but Jordan was slightly better. But Jordan had one distinct advantage, he played for better teams.

Dont bump ridiculous threads dude.
What does MJ have to do with what LBJ did tonight???

Give props to your boy minus all the foolishness

If MJ was as good Bron he would've went to more than just 6 Finals. Thats really not a lot. Kobe & Bron have been to more.

If he didnt retire to play baseball...he would have.
Jordan won ever time he went to the finals....
Bulls wouldve won 8-9 straight if shit wouldve stayed kosher in Chicago.

Btw...the fact that you cant celebrate you boys first major accomplishment without mentioning Mike lets me know that MJ is still in the back of your mind. Lebron did his thing....but we all know who the G.O.A.T is. Dont we?????????

This isnt his first major accomplishment, I just think Jordan could've and should've been better. He was too reliant on Scottie & Phil. Bron has won with 2 different teams, 2 different sets of coaches. To only go to 6 Finals in 15 seasons is kinda lackluster. If Jordan was a better all around player they would've won in 95 when he came back.
