Mermaids: The Body Found on Discovery Channel right - INTERESTING SHIT!

I'm watching it now, pretty interesting take on the scientific feasibility of mermaids. I would have hated sharing the ocean with Megalodon :smh::eek:

Thanks for the heads up

Re: Anybody see that show about real life mermaids

even the way it ended was so real ... dude was saying, he stopped tryin to contact them, when he realized they did NOT want to be contacted..

that shit had more info in that episode than nasa and the whole govt gives us since their existence...

I just want to know how authentic was that camera phone footage...

Re: Anybody see that show about real life mermaids

Fellas, the show was a mockumentary. Not real. Proven hoax.

Re: Anybody see that show about real life mermaids

Werd? Let me see that shit

Re: Anybody see that show about real life mermaids

Why? What happened?

basically they were investigating some weird seal like creature they found on a beach,

the more they dug, they called in experts, they realized how much this creature resembled man then from there it just takes you on a roller coaster ride..

that will make you a believer of mermaids so to speak:yes:

Re: Anybody see that show about real life mermaids

I'm looking at that shit again right now, because when I saw it the first time, I was so uninterested that I didn't pay it much mind at first, but then it grabbed my attention..

Re: Anybody see that show about real life mermaids

I think for security reasons the scientists here are not themselves, but we are seing actors impersonating them. Also, some of the names of scientists and institutions are not real, for security and employment reasons I guess. This docu was aired on animal planet nevertheless.. so I guess no smoke without fire!

For those of you who are skeptics, here is Homeland security shutting off those NOAA scientists.

Re: Anybody see that show about real life mermaids

yeah it appears they took a lil truth and stretched that muthafucka to atlantis.. still great tv none the less..

"Editor's Note: This two-hour special is based on real events and scientific theory."As the crescendo to Monster Week, a weeklong network programming stunt airing from May 21 to May 28, Mermaids: The Body Found is a story about evolutionary possibility grounded in a radical scientific theory – the Aquatic Ape Theory, which claims that humans had an aquatic stage in our evolutionary past. The film is science fiction, using science as a springboard into imagination and centering the story on the following real-world events:

In the early 1990s, the US Navy began a series of covert sonar tests, which were linked to mass die-offs of whales, which washed up on beaches throughout the world. For years, the Navy denied they were responsible for these beachings.

In 1997, scientists at the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) recorded a mysterious sound (called “The Bloop”) in the deep Pacific, which was thought to be organic in nature."

[edit]

Re: Anybody see that show about real life mermaids

I suspect that the disclaimers at the end of this movie are truely stated:

though certain events in this film are fictional
navy sonar tests have been directly
implicated in whale beachings
“The Bloop” is a real phenomenon
there is still debate about what it may be
none of the institutions or agencies that
appear in the film are affiliated or associated with it
in any way, nor have they approved its contents
any similarities in the film to actual persons
living or dead is entirely coincidental

Just watched

Definitely not surprised

Since when has wikipedia been the hub for 100% valid information. Also, if it was a "hoax", why did the websites with info get shut down by the government?...
