nope not really...i got my phone b/c i like it. it lets me do what i want with it. don't need to ask google or vzw for anything just pay my bill and use my phone. i can care less about what my phone is, its freedom to do what i want on it. I like freedom in what i own.

umm, jobs is trying to control everyone's internet and OS experience. i use linux and he's trying to fuck with stuff that open source OSes like linux use so he can make some bank. Has nothing to do with apple dude just wants cash. so he's greedy and controlling.
He wants flash dead b/c he fucked up in not letting adobe get access to mac like adobe has access to other OSes, everyone else works fine with flash but apple nope. He wants everyone to follow his lead so html5 can make bank since he is involved in it and because flash would make the app store useless.
again he's greedy and controlling. Let him do that with apple fine by me but leave non-apple people out of his mad quest for power and control.
obviously people agree with me, folks are writing about it and the gov't is looking into it.

I see no contradiction in anything i said.

What's great about Geekbench 2 for iPhone is that it runs the same benchmarks as Geekbench 2 for other platforms, which means it's possible to compare benchmark results not just between iPhones and iPods, but also between iPhones and iPods and Macs and PCs!

The application also integrates with Geekbench Result Browser, allowing for easy uploading of results for comparison with other users. While many users are likely to balk at the application's $4.99 price tag, the Mac OS X and other traditional versions of Geekbench carry a price tag of $19.95 for full unlocking of the application's features.

Back in 2007 after the release of the original iPhone, Primate Labs did compile a basic version of Geekbench for the iPhone and shared the results, but the new Geekbench 2 represents the company's first App Store release of its benchmarking tool.

Updated An America retinal neuroscientist has focused his boffinistic eye on the iPhone 4's much-touted high-res display, and has come to the conclusion that Apple's claim that the "Retina display's pixel density is so high, your eye is unable to distinguish individual pixels" is true.

"I'd find Apple’s claims stand up to what the human eye can perceive," writes Bryan Jones after an exhaustive analysis of the iPhone 4's 3.5-inch, 960x640 display.

Jones' conclusion contradicts an earlier assertion by DisplayMate Technologies CEO Raymond Soneira, who dismissed Steve Jobs' claims as "marketing puffery".

When introducing the iPhone 4, the Apple CEO said: "It turns out there’s a magic number right around 300 pixels per inch, that when you hold something around to 10 to 12 inches away from your eyes, is the limit of the human retina to differentiate the pixels."

Jones notes that the iPhone 4's sub-pixels may themselves have sub-pixels — but he's "not sure about this"
Soneira said, in effect, "hogwash." Then, after Discover published a rebuttal to his argument, he issued a rebuttal to the rebuttal.

"Examining this issue more closely, the iPhone 4 is actually very far from a retina display — it's a substantial discrepancy and not even close: At 12 inches the 1 dimensional linear ppi shortcoming is 326/477 = 68 percent. But the pixel (area) density for 2 dimensions, which is the actual relevant observable, is that value squared = 0.47, so the iPhone 4 is more than a factor of 2 from being a retina display at the typical 12 inch viewing distance."

Got that? Well, to be frank, it took your humble reporter a few readings to get aboard Soneira's rebuttal2, and he's still having a wee bit of difficulty riding Soneira's train of thought to its terminus.

But Jones, the retinal neuroscientist, understood immediately — one assumes — and rebuffed the arguments of Soneira, the display technologist. "While Dr. Soneira was partially correct with respect to the retina," Jones writes, "Apple's Retina Display adequately represents the resolution at which images fall upon our retina."

iMovie for iPhone 4 is a video editing application designed by Apple. iMovie is also the name of the video editing software included in iLife, which is bundled with every Mac. iMovie is only available for iPhone 4. (Don’t be sad, it needs the extra RAM and Apple A4 processing power).

As with most Apple products, iMovie is very easy to use and is fairly intuitive. If a tap doesn’t do what you want, a double tap will. iMovie can be used in either portrait or landscape, but landscape seems more natural for me.


While in editing mode, the top center of the screen shows your movies, the bottom of the screen has the timeline, and the sides of the screen have options: projects, upload media, upload media directly from camera, and play. When choosing media to add to your project, there are three tabs: video, photos, and music. Videos are listed in reverse chronological order, but photos are listed in chronological order. I find this annoying because it’s very likely that the photo I want to choose was recently taken and scrolling through hundreds a photos every time gets tedious. Not to mention, scrolling through photos is very laggy. This needs to be fixed.

Editing your movie is a breeze. You can drag clips around, trim the edges of clips, add titles, quickly switch between themes, and make minor edits to transitions. If there is a clip or photo you want to remove, just drag it off the timeline. There is one thing I want to mention about titles, however. They are very nice, but you cannot edit their length. Titles are automatically the same length as the clip you have the title attached to. Another simple feature that is missing is the ability to add plain text against a colored background.

Although there are a few little things missing from iMovie, I found it to be an excellent and quick way to edit a video. This is the first release of this app and I look forward to the changes that Apple may bring to it in the future. For only $4.99, iMovie is worth every penny.
