MERGED - iPhone

Re: MERGED - IPhone 4

Who you talking about pimp?

Not pointing any fingers so be easy playa. Just saying that it's cool if y'all like one over the other or whatever, but damn. Some people on hear act like they get commission for shitting on iPhone. Everybody got reasons for liking what they like. Android and Google are bringing the heat seriously, a lot that shit is straight fire. If it suits your needs then by all means, knock yourself out but the vibe that I'm getting from some cats on here is that you are a huge "DUM DUM" if you don't like what they like.

Re: MERGED - IPhone 4

Why do Google / Android / Froyo fanboys stay in iPhone threads? Merged or not, y'all way deep like 10-15 pages in and counting. There's gotta be a reason that the hate is so strong. Whatever it is, that much hate can't be healthy. Call me a dumbass for liking the iphone. That's cool, I'll be that but y'all need to lighten the hell up. Go skip some rocks or blow some bubbles or something cuz there is entirely too much effort being put into hating a damn phone man. Not a good look :smh:

Then Katts would argue over which company makes the best bubbles :lol::lol:

Re: MERGED - IPhone 4

I spent a lot of time messing with Mac OS, iPhone, jailbreaks and all so the shit works for me. Anything else that's out could be a lot better from whatever point of view but I haven't looked back since I switched from windows to my MBP. If I'm paying top dollar for these toys, I need them to work for me, not the other way around. Not saying other shit doesn't work the same but I got all mine working in harmony right now and that's what matters to me.

Yesterday, we posted a video showing an iPhone shopper talking to an EVO 4G salesman. That video was a little one-sided, depicting the iPhone buyer as a mindless drone who wanted the iPhone no matter what features the EVO offered. Today comes a video from the other side.

In this video, also made by tinywatchproductions using Xtranormal text-to-speed software, an owner of an EVO 4G walks into an Apple Store to try and get his phone fixed. “But this has a 4th G, the iPhone 4 is missing a ‘G’.” Just as before, the language here gets a bit NSFW.

Are you a photographer?
No.
Are you a programmer?
No.
Then why the fuck do you care about either of those?

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

And the classic...

How do I fix it?
You throw it the fuck away and buy an iPhone.

Is the iPhone 4 having proximity sensor troubles?

http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/29/is-the-iphone-4-having-proximity-sensor-troubles/

The iPhone 4's massive launch hasn't been blemish free, with reports of spotty displays (which seem to have disappeared) and antenna woes being rather widely reported. Well -- it looks like it's possible there's another issue too -- this time with the proximity sensor. Now, we're no strangers to spontaneously turning on speakerphone with our faces (though admittedly our cheeks are pretty round), so it's hard to say if this is an iPhone 4-specific issue, but the mounting reports would suggest that it's possible the new handsets sensor is a little bit... over sensitive. Reported issues include accidentally disconnecting calls, throwing the speakerphone switch, and putting people on hold accidentally. What about you? Are you having problems with your iPhone 4's proximity sensor? Let us know in the comments.

Whats the big deal? A phone is a phone. Why so much hatred? American phones suck anyway so I find it hilarious that you all are fighting over technology thats been on mobile phones in Japan and Europe for over 5 yrs now! America: Always behind the times.  iPhone is cool, Evo is cool, as long as you're not using the old Nokia brick phones, I think everyone should just take it easy. :dunno:

Re: MERGED - IPhone 4

to those of you with an iPhone 4. Does your home button make a clicking noise when pressed? My 3g never sounded like that.

Re: MERGED - IPhone 4

California law firm may file class action suit over iPhone signal issues.

File this one under unsurprising, but it seems like a California law firm may be planning a class action lawsuit against Apple over the recent iPhone 4 reception issues. The firm, Kershaw, Cutter & Ratinoff, LLP, is using their site to collect data on a potential suit, saying that they're looking for people who "recently purchased the new iPhone and have experienced poor reception quality, dropped calls and weak signals." The firm has filed class action suits in the past over the makers of games like Mafia Wars and Farmville over deceptive ads in the games, so they obviously have experience suing tech companies. Whether or not they'll have a case in this instance is another story.

Again, I'm not terribly surprised that someone is planning a class action suit against Apple. If they do follow through with a lawsuit, I'm not sure exactly how well it will go for them. As Apple has said, holding any phone in a certain way will cause signal degradation. Still, it would be good to see them hand out free bumper cases to anyone having reception issues. We'll just have to wait for the rumored iOS 4.01 update to come out to see if it alleviates some of the signal problems that people are having.

What are some mobile phones in Japan that kill the iphone and new android phones.

No free bumpers for iPhone users?
http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-19512_7-20009242-233.html?tag=newsLatestHeadlinesArea.0

Apple apparently has a game plan for dealing with iPhone 4 reception complaints--and it expressly prohibits giving customers free bumpers.

According to a purported list of procedures reportedly leaked to Boy Genius Report, AppleCare representatives are being instructed on how to coach users about the proper way to handle the latest-generation smartphone:

1. Keep all of the positioning statements in the BN handy - your tone when delivering this information is important.

a. The iPhone 4's wireless performance is the best we have ever shipped. Our testing shows that iPhone 4's overall antenna performance is better than iPhone 3GS.
b. Gripping almost any mobile phone in certain places will reduce its reception. This is true of the iPhone 4, the iPhone 3GS, and many other phones we have tested. It is a fact of life in the wireless world.
c. If you are experiencing this on your iPhone 3GS, avoid covering the bottom-right side with your hand.
d. If you are experiencing this on your iPhone 4, avoid covering the black strip in the lower-left corner of the metal band.
e. The use of a case or Bumper that is made out of rubber or plastic may improve wireless performance by keeping your hand from directly covering these areas.

2. Do not perform warranty service. Use the positioning above for any customer questions or concerns.

3. Don't forget YOU STILL NEED to probe and troubleshoot. If a customer calls about their reception while the phone is sitting on a table (not being held) it is not the metal band.

4. ONLY escalate if the issue exists when the phone is not held AND you cannot resolve it.

5. We ARE NOT appeasing customers with free bumpers - DON'T promise a free bumper to customers.

The "voice of reason".

its amazing how he said the screen is a bigger problem than reception...think about it...a PHONE with reception problems isn't a big deal but the screen is....the screen that apparently fixes itself...
but reception losing on a phone is not a problem...

he references a phone from 2000 with a whole different design and no one would touch the antenna on phones like that, they'd hold the body like they do on EVERY PHONE.

Apple decided to put the antenna on the outside, on the body where people hold the phone. his issue from 2000 is different than this, in 2000 u knew not to hold the antenna now after apple played up the design with no mention of how to hold the phone, people held the phone how they normally do.

this video is prime example of an apple fanboy...he doesn't have the problem so its not a problem...its a "supposedly" with lots of doubt...its being blown out of proportion b/c he doesn't have the problem...well people are having the problem, are they liars?

then he goes on to say all phones have this issue...moto droid doesn't...the G1 didn't...people with blackberries don't...nokia doesn't....no special hold the phone this way instructions for anyone but apple...

but according to the phanboys...they don't have the issue so obviously no one else does so why hold apple accountable for releasing a defective product...

amazing iphone fanboy logic...

diff design too...

it's just amazing.... b/c it's apple leave them alone...someone drops a defective product and its bad for everyone else but b/c its apple, leave it alone.... i mean wow...

its like dudes like above want special rules that only apply to apple...let someone else make a phone with a defect and him and the rest of the iphanboys will come a running nitpicking about every issue... but the iphone has at least 5 issues including not being able to function as a phone for some users and its a non-issue? the screen is a bigger issue than a phone not being able to be a phone?

so someone gets in accident can't make a call but they die cursing that their screen wasn't nice or they die happy b/c their screen is nice?

it's just amazing to me and the ultimate cop out "all phones have this issue" no they don't.

apple is telling reps to tell users its a non-issue...
jobs says its non-issue, telling ppl to spend more money to fix his companies screw up...
folks are saying just return the phone, what about the restocking fee? apple screwed up, what about the people who sold or gave away their previous phone's?

its just amazing to me about arrogance and ignorance of some iphone users... "i don't have the issue, my friends don't either. its a non-issue it's being blown out of proportion"

its literally like sheep talking....lemmings...its like jobs is the pied piper...its really sad to me that people have given up the ability to think in order to be led and controlled. then they wanna talk about gov't spying or google having info when they're acting like sheep....

this would make a great social study....

Re: Is the iPhone 4 having proximity sensor troubles?

I'm posting on my iPhone 4 and I won't be able to pull up BGOL at my internship (considering it's a porn board) but will post some phones with pics later. In the meantime check out Sotbank, NTT Docomo, and AU--all Japanese cell phone companies. They have websites in English I believe. I also made a Japanese cell phone thread awhile back if u wanna search the threads I've made. But to name one, my Dad has a phone from softbank where the battery is solar powered so all u need to do is sit it out on a sunny day if u forgot your charger, it has a 12MP camera, blazing fast Internet (standard on all phones there), a processor that will put most phones here to shame, and the ability to act as a credit card and train pass (all you do is scan your phone and it deducts money) among many other features. Most of these things are standard on Japanese phones. Also, prepaid phones In japan come standard with video messaging, high resolution cameras, internet capability, etc. It's simple features that American phones should have but don't unless u pay extra. I'll post more later.
