Robert Guerrero Ready To Return, Under Golden Boy
Former featherweight champion Robert Guerrero (22-1-1, 15 KOs) is ready to return to the ring in the super featherweight division after he won a lengthy arbitration case against former promoter Dan Goossen on Tuesday. Guerrero has been inactive since a February knockout of Jason Litzau. Guerrero would like to return to the ring by January.
"I didn't think it was going to take this long. It was a bumpy ride, but it's good to be at the end and get back in the ring. I'm just happy now that I'm getting that chance," Guerrero told The Associated Press. "At this point, I just want to get back in the ring. But if there's a title fight available, I've been staying sharp and ready to go. That's what every fighter wants, the championship fights. That's how you get somewhere in boxing, getting the championship fights. I'm just happy now that I'm getting that chance."
Guerrero likely going to sign with Golden Boy Promotions through co-manager Shelly Finkel, who already has several fighters under the Golden Boy banner.
