MEGAN THE STALLION SUING HER LABEL

Their goal was never to be around long. Their goal was to make it in the industry.

Folks need to start day dreaming and fantasizing about life after the fame.
Problem is they get deep in debit trying to live a life style trying to impress others (cars, mansion, jewelry, clothing etc..) and forget what the original goal was. There are a lot of broke artist who made it in the industry all because they got in over their head.

If you go on Twitter and read you can see countless stories where them broads be broke. Fell into the fake game and sold their soul for nothing. A lot thought they could snap a few photos and bam be holding a bag but its more work than that. Then they found out a month or so folks will pay for pictures but soon after they gone have to do xxx material to keep fans. For example that B Nasty chick. She went from fingering herself in a carwash to fucking on film within a year or so.

Yep, 100% facts on that brother!!...

Once it officially comes out it wasn't him, she will do like all bitches do. The start crying and everyone will rush to her defense, because that weak bullshit called christianity has infected everyone's mind into believing every woman is the virgin mary.

Props to RocNation for trying to make shit right with her contract.
Wasn't shit wrong with her contract. By all accounts her contract was better than most new artists. She was convinced by outside parties that because of her gained fame that her contract should be better. It's always easy to want to renegotiate retrospectively. But, that's not how business works. She was going to lose. I said this months ago.

nah - this is wholesale fraud

this suit has no grounds but it can be used to delay paying 1501
in the end Meg still owes everybody

RocNation is real scum
How do you know there’s no merit to her case?
Either Something for the Hotties is an album or it isn't. The judge will decide.

This is what her lawyer claim:

"In court documents obtained by Complex and filed on Friday, Megan’s legal team at Holland & Knight claimed 1501 didn’t classify the 21-track Something for Thee Hotties as an “album,” and that the label said it didn’t satisfy her “minimum recording commitment.” Meg’s lawyers now say that, given the label’s argument, “1501 wants to tie [Megan Thee Stallion] down to release more albums under the Contract to the financial benefit of 1501.”

“Contrary to 1501’s position, Something for Thee Hotties clearly meets the definition of ‘Album’ under the recording agreement because it is not less than forty-five (45) minutes in length,” the suit claims. “There are no other parameters or requirements under the contract for what can be deemed an ‘Album’ other than total run time of the album. As such, Something for Thee Hotties satisfies her ‘Minimum Recording Commitment’ for the second option period of the agreement. To protect herself, her music, and her artistic choices, Pete has been forced to bring this action to seek a declaratory judgment to that effect.”

the court filing of a suit isn't required to contain facts...

recording contracts define the process on how the album must be delivered to the label
they also, in multiple ways detail how the recording contract defines an album - run time is only one factor

this lawsuit is a tactic to delay - not go to trial
just like her last challenge of this same contract... she will delay delay and then drop the suit

continuing a pattern of ROC scumbag tactics

So what's their endgame?

So what's their endgame?
incentivize 1501 to sell Meg's contract
@ViCiouS is right.

Here is the game summary.

1501 made the initial investment into Megan. To achieve their goal, they added more pieces to the puzzle. This cuts into 1501's net as well as Megan's depending how the contract is set up. Megan's contract with 1501 is slightly better than a basic new artist contract. But, not as lucrative as an established artist's contract. So, here come Roc. They show Megan's an established artist contract and compares it to her new artist contract. An apples to oranges comparison. Now she feels slighted, especially with Roc telling her that they would give her much more than she's getting now.

Of course a company will give her more money and incentives now because the risk is lower. She has market value. If she signs with the Roc, which she will, all of the companies associated with 1501 are now cut off as well. Which means more money for the Roc and Megan.

At the end of the day, it's more lucrative to sign a hot new artist who has already established market branding and market share than to sign a potentially good artist and spend money to break that new artist and develop them from scratch.

This is not a new game. Just new players. This happened with Boys 2 Men and Biv10. This happened to New Edition twice.
