NDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Likely Republican presidential nominee John McCain says he doesn't look for any major political reforms in Cuba until after Fidel Castro dies, adding he hopes that's not far off.

As McCain put it during a campaign stop in Indiana Friday, "I hope he has the opportunity to meet Karl Marx very soon."

That's a reference to the author of "The Communist Manifesto," who died in 1883.

McCain's comments follow an argument between Democratic contenders Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama over the best way to push for change in Cuba.

Castro himself has responded to the barbed interest in his decision to step down this week as Cuba's leader.

Eighty-one years-old and infirm, Castro says he's enjoyed seeing "the embarrassing position of all the presidential candidates" making "demands of Cuba." And he says he made the right call by
stepping down.

I wont speak on the treatment of the Cuban people but the United states wants to control all of those Islands and if things continue to go the way it is in 50yr from now south america and many of those island will be ran by the united states or if not will just rape them of their resource's.

Castro hasn't always been the nicest to his people. But towards us,he's more like the "crazy old man who lives across the street whose house you don't want to pass by." How much of a danger to the U.S could Castro really be if he allowed us to have a military base-Guantanomo Bay on his country's soil and didn't do jack shit about it. That's gangsta on our part and pussified on his part. That's one of the reasons why I never saw him as a threat to the U.S.

Castro hasn't always been the nicest to his people. .

Agreed. However, it's just not something a presidential candidate should say. Add that with McCain's other comments like calling asians GOOKS...YES, he said that shit to the press but they always sweep McCain mistakes under the rug.

Dude is exposing what type of president he would be...same ol' bullshit

This cracka got one foot in the casket and talkin shit??????????? Nigga look like Frankenstein tryin to run for pres. All he need is some bolts in his neck. And what's wrong wit that mufucka face??????????? Nigga look like he got a alien growin in his jaw.

McCain is 71.
This is what I find so ironic about his comments!

He is not a military or economic threat to the US.

However he is an idealogical threat because he represents David in the fight against Goliath.

He represents defiance, the same thing they spin as positive when they talk about the founding fathers' defiance against mighty Britain at the time.

He represents strength to stand up for what you believe in against all odds.

Overstand.

Exactly man.. dude really scares me man... add that to his stated lack of economic understanding.. dude might fuck things up more than Bush...whoever thought that was even possible

Word he reminds of that scene in "The Devils Advocate" where Keanu is picking the Jurors and he looks at the one broad and says.. "Shes damaged goods. Shes wants in on this jury because someone hurt her and she wants revenge."

Why is Mc Cain a hero????

He was captured by an enemy???

20 millions of my ancestors were captured by an enemy and brought here to suffer for 400 years.

WTF???

And criticizing Castro???

He can't fucking step in Castro's shoes............... non of the candidates could.

Pfft. Castro is a better leader then McCain will ever be thats for sure. The vietnamese clearly didn't do a good job with him.

Nicely put...the propoganda machines really don't give a shit how he treats his people, they care more about the fact he stood up to America & told the GOP "not in my country".

True and we see Chavez displaying the same defiance.

Any country that doesn't depends on USA they consider it a threat.

Then African Americans have to go one step further and overstand that the propaganda machine will also demonize any African leader that also shows that defiance.

The key to freedom is economic independence from the west and its allies.

Latin America is waking up, Asia has already woken up.

We are in a peculiar situation because we will be affected by virtue of living in the belly of the beast.

However as trojan horses we need to step up and be focussed.

Makk and I often argue about Chavez. There is a long thread (like 12 pages or so) on the politicsaboard about it.

Not because of his defiance, I personally disagree fundamentally with MUCH of Chavez' "Bolivarian Revolution".

However, with that being said and disgreeing vehemently, it's not nearly to the point where I would wish DEATH on him. My only wish would be for a political-economical system that would truly protect individual rights, etc... so I'm going to always disagree with these forms of "socialism"..

same thing with Castro.. but wishing death on him....:smh::smh::smh:

See... McCain and Bush agree with deposing anyone that disagrees with them...it's a dangerous situation to have someone who as commander in chief has that type of mentality...it leads to reckless misuse of our military

Look at the clusterfuck that Bush has us in right now.. I can't believe people really would vote for a president that essentially agrees with Bush's decisions and wants to perpetuate them... scary man.... this war in Iraq has been the single most destructive decision on our "place" in foreign relations in decades... gonna take a lot of work to clean that up..not even talking about the trillion plus in losses

I'm like Samson in this bitch.......

It really all starts with the currency...Rome was the same way. Unfortunately for the U.S...countries have gotten hip to the way of really "fighting us". They know our real dominance is tied to our position as the world's reserve currency..and our faltering economy and huge debta have weakened the value of the dollar... but attempting moves like "selling Oil on anything but the U.S. Dollar" is a move of economic warfare. I don't mean it in the BUSH sense.... I mean in the ... "I'm tired of you fucking with me... you're hurting right now...and I'm going to hit you where you hurt".... people know going to "war" with the U.S. is a no-win situation... but they can hurt us...and if we get another Bush like crony in office... I'll bet ANYTHING by the time they are out of office, we will have lost our status as the world's reserve currency to the Euro.... and then the real problems for the U.S. dollar will begin...because we haven't really seen how bad it can get..given our huge debts and dependency on high price foreign oil...

^^^ cosign 200%

My only concern is that Africa capitalize on the shifts in power just like they did during world war 2 (gaining independence).

Babylon is a harlot, I don't really care for her even though I would be affected negatively..........

The liberation of my people is worth far more than my life..........

Was it 2004 or 2000 when he ran for pres and Lieberman ran for pres for the dems? Whenever it was, I swear he sounded like one the better candidates in the race. The way he's switched up so quickly is scary.

Fuck a Billary, we CAN'T have this guy in office :smh:

I agree but shockingly there are people who Really do agree with the iraq war and want the united states govnt to step on anyones head to get "us" in a better position. I was browsing another forum(mostly whitefolk) and most of them were for the iraq war/iran war/McCain. One of the responses was literally "Who votes against Iraq?" as if it was obviously a good idea to be/stay there.

Yeah, this is very true. They all are on some america propaganda bullshit. I mean why the hell would any of them stick to this outdated concept of alienating cuba????????????

Here is castro rightfully shitting on the candidates.

http://www.reuters.com/article/topNews/idUSN1941945720080222?feedType=RSS&feedName=topNews

They support israel like they got naked pictures of obama, billary and mccain.

They have no problem with saudi arabia.

Yet they want to speak on cuba and human rights and democracy before they fuck with them.

This is why, the more things "change" the more they stay the same.

Nobody would field a question about saudi arabia relations whe nthey talk this cuba horseshit, bullshit government media run debates.

True. His resources are stretched too thin as it is to take on the debt of generating an extended military conflict with the US. Cuba doesnt have the industry or economy to shoulder the burden of any sort of unnecessary war, low level or otherwise.

Plus it would put a lot of our tenuous Caribbean alliances into jeopardy since many of them (Jamaica, DR, PR, Mexico, Caymans, Bahamas, etc.) enjoy cordial relations with Cuba, so the US isnt necessarily interested in it either.

Castro has been a master politician under duress--thats the secret to his political stability and personal security. He has done more through diplomacy than through military power.
