McCain considering POWELL !! - Gamechanger

ColinPowellDePauwcopy.jpg

#1. I dont think powel is that stupid.
#2. Even if he is that doesnt change shit. It actually makes him look EVEN MORE like 4-8 more years of the Bush administration.
#3. Van Allen is a made up character being used (quite cleverly) to remind us about whats going on so we arent lulled to sleep thinking Obama will automaticly win(like what happened with Kerry.. many people didnt vote thinking hed win in the predicted landslide). Good job.. Still putting you on Ig though.

This shows how desperate McCain is...

For some reason, I think Obama is gonna get robbed...

I would be shocked if another Florida-type fuckery didn't happen!

Months ago Powell said he didnt want the Job. It dont matter cuz either way Obama gotta fight ahead of him to win the election. The republicans havent even unleashed their arsenal yet. They're waiting to the last minute so they can steal the election again like the last 2 times. Big OIL and the republicans will loose trillions over the next 4 years if Obama wins so they know they gotta stop him...May GOD BE with you OBAMA.

The McCain campaign is just floating Powell's name to grab some headlines from Obama.

Nothing more, nothing less.

Powell already got burned by these warmongering crackas.
He's smart enough not to get burned again by these criminal honkys's

You lose.

You know Powell's gonna find some way to fuck up McCain's game by complimenting Obama/Biden in some way... watch.

call me confused but i thought powell had been quoted as saying that obama would make a good president....

don't know how accurate this is...

Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol repeated Thursday that sources have told him they expect former Secretary of State Colin Powell will endorse Barack Obama , though the former secretary of state has denied reports that he will speak at the Democratic National Convention.

“We all talk to people who talk to people and there are people close to the Obama campaign in the course of conversations who made clear to me that there was very high level discussions. … The Obama people expect Powell to endorse him,” Kristol told FOX News.

In a FOX News exclusive Wednesday, Kristol, a regular contributor, said inside sources suggested Powell would show up in Denver in the week of Aug. 25 specifically to back the presumptive presidential nominee.

“He may well give a speech at the Democratic convention explaining his endorsement of Obama,” Kristol said, citing the sources.

“This is not an absolute done deal, but these people are very confident that Powell will endorse Obama,” Kristol said, adding that he thinks Powell, a Republican, still has “a high respect” for John McCain, Obama’s Republican rival.

Powell said he hasn’t endorsed anyone yet and wouldn’t be attending the convention.

“I do not have time to waste on Bill Kristol’s musings,” Powell told ABC News. “I am not going to the convention. I have made this clear.”

An endorsement by Powell could go a long way to attracting moderates and wayward Republicans to the presumptive Democratic presidential candidate.

Over the years, Powell himself has been touted as a potential presidential or vice presidential candidate. The former national security adviser served as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff during the 1991 Persian Gulf War. He was secretary of state for the younger President Bush.

His tenure is most notable for presenting to the U.N. Security Council evidence that Iraq was pursuing weapons of mass destruction. His presentation led to a resolution endorsing military action against that country. He later described his role as a “blot” on his record.

Powell has unofficially advised Obama and Republican candidate John McCain but had not endorsed anyone. A spokesman said in July that he was undecided.

In April, Powell praised Obama’s response to controversial remarks by his former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, who had said the United States brought the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on itself by supporting terrorism and that the government created the AIDS virus to “destroy people of color.”

“I thought that Senator Obama handled the issue well,” said Powell, the nation’s first black secretary of state. “He didn’t abandon the minister that brought him closer to his faith, but at the same time he deplored the kinds of statements that the Reverend Wright had made.”

Obama later turned his back on Wright after the minister courted controversy again with additional comments in public.

Kristol said sources told him Powell will “quite possibly” speak at the Democratic convention on the same night as Obama’s vice-presidential selection and former President Bill Clinton.

“The Obama people are quietly trying to line up a pretty strong convention,” Kristol said. “I think the Obama campaign shouldn’t be underestimated. Obviously anyone would like to have Powell’s endorsement.”

IMO, What would really cause Obama problems is if McCain chose a WOMAN for his VP.

Think about it.

People here have been bashing Powell as compared to Obama so I thought I would give some food for thought:

Obama: Mixed heritage, mother white American, father Black Kenyan. So, no "slaves" in the family unless you want to call colonial occupancy in Kenya a form of slavery.
Powell: Parents were Jamacian immigrants. Probably could trace roots to slaves being brought to Jamacia.

Obama: Grew up in Hawaii and Indonesia. In Hawaii did not attend public schools by Punahu private school. Anyone what has ever lived in Hawaii knows that the public schools are crap, and that for the best education you send your kids to private schools.
Powell: Grew up in New York, went to public schools.

Obama: Started off at Occidental College in LA, and transferred to Columbia under exchange program they have with Occidental. Occidental is a very good private school with a solid reputation.
Powell: Attended City College of New York (public college).

Obama: Harvard Law, and community organizer. Bottom line, workig for agencies that give grants to help people in the inner cities to better their lives. Probably was making $70,000 doing this.
Powell: Rose up the ranks from 2nd Lt to General. Did a few tours in Vietnam. Various Army Staff and War colleges.

The reason why I bring up the community organizer, is because these organizations Obama worked for, wrote grants to people to help in the community. That is good. But, they received a lot more in federal money and donations than they gave out. In other words, liberal whites can make a living off the poor by saying that they are doing something for them, but not really enough. If Obama has been working in this program, and it has been around for awhile, then why are there so many poor people in Chicago?

Seems to me, Obama is more of an "elitist" and
Uncle Tom" than Powell. Powell sacrificed in the Army (and we know the history of treatment of Blacks there when he first entered in the late 50's), while Obama went to elite private high schools, colleges, and law school at Harvard (not a HBCU I believe), and worked as a community organizer along with the rest of the "poverty hustlers" who are getting rich off the poor.

I would rather vote McCain. At least I know where I stand with him and his crowd.

Cats are tripping with this Obama isnt Black craziness

Where the fuck have these morons been?

If your skin is brown in Amerikkka, you are a n*gga as you said.

Why are we even talking about this? Powell will be backing Obama, not McCain. McCain can consider whoever he wants, but Colin Powell will never be someone's VP. Colin Powell can be President himself, if he wanted to.

God, this thread should have ended a long time ago. Now it morphed into this "Obama isn't black enough" nonsense. I'm telling you: some of you all needs to stop drinking the Karl Rove RNC Kool-aid!

easy_b, like calling me names will change anything. Whether one votes Dem or Rep, get a handle on the issues, and find out for yourself instead of relying on what somebody will give you. I bet if a Black Dem and a White Dem were running a close primary race in your community, you would be one of the many who would get tricked into not voting because they told you that they changed the voting date, or that you had to show a utility bill stub to vote, instead of being aware what is going around you. Don't laugh, it has happened (look back a few years in Maryland when the Dems did that against a Black vs. White Dem primary).

Bottom line, grow up, present your case and then we can have an adult discussio.

You don't have a case...Obama is going to win. The only way McOld is going to win is by cheating and suppressing votes.

Oh next you call me out.... I am going to fuck your ass up.

Have a nice day:)
