It’s Hammer Time, baby! MC Hammer will head out for his first major concert tour since 1991 this spring and summer when his House Party Tour kicks off on April 6th in Tallahassee, FL. The rapper, who rose to prominence in the late 1980s and early 1990s with mega-hits like “U Can’t Touch This”, will be joined on the all-star nostalgia run by a mix of colleagues who are also heavily connected to that musical era including En Vogue, Sir Mix-a-Lot, Kid ‘n Play, Sisqo, Doug E Fresh, Tone Loc, Montell Jordan, Tag Team, Rob Base, Young MC, DJ Kool, Biz Markie, Coolio, The Funky Bunch (sans Marky Mark Wahlberg), and 2 Live Crew.

The 12-date tour will take the mix of throwback performers across the United States starting with a run of shows along the west coast in California, Nevada, and Colorado. The tour will then head east across the midwest with more stops in Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, and Texas before wrapping with a performance in Maryland Heights, Missouri on August 9th. The lineup for each show will vary from city to city, but MC Hammer will be involved with every performance.

“Hammer continues to be one of our top clients, and he’s one of the hardest working and most giving people I know,” MC Hammers agent Jeff Epstein said of the upcoming tour in a statement. “The demand for him as a performer has actually increased while he’s been off the touring circuit. He truly is 2 legit to quit!”

Fans can click here for tickets to select shows on the tour. Fans can also reference the schedule below for a detailed tour itinerary with the nightly performer lineups for the upcoming summer concert run.

I got a reminder email just this morning from Universal Attractions Agency soliciting additional tour dates, so these are not janky promoters behind this tour. My biggest concern is that they have SEVENTEEN different acts listed in the promotions, but the majority of them are only hired for ONE show or one weekend.

For example, people might assume from the flyer that En Vogue has third billing on the tour when in reality they are only "touring" that first weekend in June. Same two show/one weekend spot gig contracts for DJ Kool, Siquo, Coolio, etc. Hell, Rob Base, Montell Jordan, Doug E Fresh, Young MC, Tag Team and Color Me Badd are only doing ONE show each! That's the majority of acts being "promised"!

Despite the bottom of the page disclaimer, many of "us" will see the advertisements and incorrectly assume most everyone will actually be performing. Those are ones who might leave the concert feeling cheated and upset.

You DO realize that Hammer turned FIFTY SEVEN YEARS OLD this past weekend (born March 30, 1962) and has not toured like this since 1991. Expect to see Hammer do a lot of rapping and fist pumping, but not so much actual dancing.

Having said that, if they add a tour date near me I'm likely buying a ticket!

I have seen George Clnton 3 straight year 2016, 2017 and 2018. He had a fucking chair onstage each time.

We rocked with his old funky ass for 3 plus hours each time.

MC Hammer is in much better shape.
