Mayweather should not fight Maidana again, he should move on

There are peoplw who want to see arrogant, braggadocios mayweather get beat but I think there are more people who want to see him truly tested. People hated Ali for his conceited antics but they respect his skill. But the fights that really cemented his legend as a boxer were Frazier and Foreman because he was evenly matched with Joe and the underdog with George.

The maidana fight in retrospect was sloppy and foul filled with low blows and arm locks and rabbit punches and its a shame that his strategy consisted of going hard at him early just to lose steam in the end. But you can't say it wasn't exciting to watch mayweather read and adjust. I agree with article that the OP posted that maidana doesn't deserved a rematch if his strategy is going to be like that.

Floyd and Pac aren't fighting as long as Pac is with Top Rank. Floyd won't be fighting Top Rank fighters. This isn't complicated. This fight will only happen is pacman leaves Top Rank.

All of this was bullshit. I only kept reading hoping there would be something that wasn't complete and utter nonsense.
But the bolded was the part I wanted to address. Floyd's glove did touch the mat in the Judah fight and it was missed by the ref but he did not touch the mat in the Mosley fight. He actually has a knockdown when he wasn't punched.

Not only that but Broner isn't fighting Pac either. Broner is a Golden Boy fighter and GB and Top Rank are the most bitter of rivals, so that ain't happening.

Watched the fight again last night. Awful fight. Holding and more holding. Floyd win, but that was easily a fight the judges could have taken from him. I'm a huge fan, but these fights are awful to watch. He wasn't even punching with a proper fist. His hands must be shot. Worse than he lets on. That's 4 boring fights in a row. Losing steam.

Canelo was a boxing clinic. I've watched it 20 times or so. But the other fights were awful. Ortiz may have been his most exciting fight because of the controversy and potential knockout before the shit happened. The Maidana fight was clinch-fest. They slow danced to Reunited during that entire fight. :lol:

Maidana has good stamina but he will have to slow down and make his punches count. Floyd will have to stop stepping back when he gets in a good combo that shit pisses me off to no end. I feel maidana let his fans down, he should have given it his all, utilize all of his skills, instead he took the easy road and fought dirty for 12 fucking rounds, he could've done much better than that.

Roger said he took risks but he was basically just fighting wild and dirty, I think he cared more about trying to hurt floyd than beating him.

You're entitled to your opinion. But, I'm not just speaking on assumptions, though not first hand, it's inside camp knowledge. Believe it or not, Floyd does not want to even be boxing anymore. He intended for the De La Hoya fight to be his last. He was forced to fight Hatton, and had it not ended in a knockout, there was a guaranteed rematch in the contract. He tried to retire again after Mosley, but was forced to fight Cotto. When he talked retirement that time, the domestic violence issue (which I'm told nothing even remotely of the sort happened) came about and he went to jail.

I can't delve too deep into any of the other stories but Williams and Gatti, because they came from reports of after talk, that weren't repeated anymore. But, I was told all those boxing incidents with the exception of Vernon Forrest were boxing business related. The one about Williams though I know a little more. I know that he was supposed to fight and lose to Canelo Alvarez, so that another undefeated matchup could happen between he and Floyd. But Williams reportedly didn't want to do that, because he wanted a shot at Floyd, whom he felt like he could beat. Incidentally I kinda agree. He wasn't supposed to take a dive, but he wasn't supposed to give his all either. Shortly after those failed talks he met with the accident. Coincidence, sure why not?

From what I hear about Gatti, he was in talks to write a tell all book about the boxing inside, but specifically detailing shit outside of the ring. His death was peppered with unexplained foul play. There were accusations of homicide and suicide, arrests, convictions, vacated convictions, and multiple autopsies. Ultimately, it was ruled a homicide, because he was fucked up before the gunshot. There were so many bruises that it was unexplainable, and though his wife took the initial fall as his killer, his bruises were proven to have happened prior to his death, and no one believes she being nearly half his size in weight could have accomplished it.

I thought the Guerrero fight was a lackluster fight but the Cotto fight was every bit as intense and exciting as this one and the Alvarez fight was such a pure clinic, I thought it was great. Not a great fight but a great performance by Floyd.

I liked Williams but he was never in line for a Mayweather fight unless he beat Canelo (he was scheduled to fight him, common knowledge). He wasn't exactly on fire at the time and was the underdog going into that fight.
I used to think he had the formula to beat Floyd...until I saw him repeatedly get outboxed by guys Quintana and Lara.
I'm sure Floyd might have wanted to stop but I do remember him having some tax issues and that will add some years to a celebrity's career and not just boxers.

Maidana's fans don't feel let down so you're off the mark with that one. Dude gave it his full effort and came up short. If he hadn't fought dirty, we would have gotten the blowout we were all expecting.

Passing on the rematch would be a bad business decision and the one thing no one can say about Mayweather is he makes bad business decisions (his personal decisions are another matter).

I liked Williams but he was never in line for a Mayweather fight unless he beat Canelo (he was scheduled to fight him, common knowledge). He wasn't exactly on fire at the time and was the underdog going into that fight.

I fully intended to make it completely clear that this was just shit I heard. It ain't like I'm personally chillin in the midst of the shit. If so, I probably wouldn't have time to be cruising this board anymore. I just figured I'd kick around a few of the stories "I've heard" with the fellow boxing fans/conspiracy theorists, or whatever. All of this shit is just entertainment to me. By the way, I don't go to the barbershop, I cut my own shit. Wanna hopefully get one of those self cut system joints, so the wife can stop fussing about hair on her mirrors. Yea, uh I didn't say I needed anyone to believe me. I was just shootin the shit with y'all. And I think you meant 5th person 'anecdotes'. :smh: 'Antidotes.':D Either way, it was just something to throw in the discussion, to be discussed... like you are doing. You did realize that, right? Anyway, that 90% gossip I don't pay attention to. The percentage I tend to be in isn't that. I don't know what parts of the board you frequent. I mostly see titties (nothing to gossip about there), humor, and observations.

There's not much to discuss when you wanna gossip. We were having a convo about shit we KNOW to the best if our ability, based on what's being out out there. You tried to back up some shit you asserted by saying you know shit we don't know cuz you behind the scenes lmao. C'mon man, we all saw it.

Naw man. I never said I was behind the scenes. And if that's the impression I gave, then my bad. Again, I just was enjoying some boxing chatter with the fam. No harm, no foul. I don't try to claim to be what I'm not. I'm the type, that if I start gettin it, or I see a way to get it, be it a hustle or whatever, I share. I don't wait til I'm on top. That's just me. You could look at my post in the business forum to see that which by the way I need to update today. I enjoy seeing the next man make it. So if I can help, that's what I do, especially if there's a family involved.
