Mayweather questions Pacquiao's commitment

Mayweather also offered Pacquiao his best wishes for a speedy return to form after a brutal right from Juan Manuel Marquez settled the fourth instalment of their rivalry in the sixth round.

But mixed with his words of comfort were signs that the long talked about 'superfight' between the pair would never be a reality, with Mayweather adding that the Filipino had traded off his name.

The American is famed for his intense training prior to a fight and believes that Pacquiao cannot commit as much of his life to the sport as he does.

"In the sport of boxing, you have to really dedicate yourself to your craft," Mayweather told Fight Hype. "You have to really, really dedicate yourself to your craft. I think he's got so many different things on the outside that he worries about.

"But it was a good thing that he was able to come into the sport, you know, piggyback off my name, and get a bunch of endorsement deals and make a good living. That's a great thing.

"Pacquiao's focus should be trying to take a vacation, get his mind right, and get a few tune-up fights so he can bounce back."

Mayweather is undefeated in his 43 career fights but reached out to Pacquiao, who has now lost five of his 61 career bouts, because of the nature of his defeat at the MGM Grand.

"There's a difference in the ways you can get knocked out," he said. "See, when a guy gets knocked out and he can get up, they sit him on his stool, they rub his back, he goes home and ices himself, he goes to the hospital and gets checked out and he's okay, that's one thing.

"But when you've got to wake a guy up with smelling salt and he's got a concussion and he's got to go to the hospital overnight, that's crucial. I mean, that's close to death. Hopefully he's okay.

"My prayers go out to the Pacquiao family. I know he loves the sport of boxing, so hopefully he can bounce back."

From what Mayweather said, It like the fans take this "who's better than who" beef with Mayweather & Pacman more. Mayweather spoke like a true professional Boxer.

Yep... cool. Amir Khan has to be relieved now. Knowing that it wasn't just him. Manny has a weak boxing style that is stupid to imitate and Roach wasn't the best option for a trainer. He might believe he still has a career. I can't wait for Khan to start dropping his hilariously cocky/delusional gems.

Mayweather has never disrespected Pacquiao or any other boxer. He has always advised Pacquiao to "get his money right"...He understands that at the end of the day, this is a business, and one in which the window to make money is short...

Money Team...

You know them Mayweather haters are tight as fuck right now...

Well... He was bugging on Ustream and he was talking extra crazy about Shane. In fact he has a long history of crazy shit talking. I don't know if you are talking about in the long run because he will talk reckless and then smooth shit over or if you are playing around.

hasn't freddy been worrying about the same thing for the last 4 fights or so now? maybe even longer.

LOL. He disses every boxer every chance he gets. As a matter of fact he disses every person he meets every chance he gets.

I ignore Mayweather till fight night.

Dont watch that 24/7 shit or follow any twitters.

He is a bad mofo in that ring though. :itsawrap:

This is in poor taste but for whatever reason i typically give May a pass for his bullshit and just enjoy the show.

I didn't see the fight, but I heard the pacquiao was winning the fight but just got caught by a very good punch that he obviously didn't see...

Anyone can get caught and most of the greats have been caught...

Am I wrong??

Nah. I'd settle for something not completely littered with backhanded compliments, outright insults, and insincere concern.

that wouldn't be Floyd. the whole concept of the character that he made up, that made him rich, and has now consumed him, is the guy that people can't WAIT to see get KO'd.

Indeed. He does it well too. I get a kick out the guy for the most part.

Yup just like Shane tried to decapitate Floyd...

Nope your not..you are correct. This is how I saw it Manny was winning/doing ok untill Marquez got that first knock down on him. It was shocking as well as embarassing to Pacquiao and his pride.Manny wanted to quickly even the score..and to his credit he DID in fact score a return knock down against Marquez. Manny started to turn the heat up even MORE but it was EASY or so it seemed at the time. Pacquiao IMO appeared to now be rushing his punches and lunging BUT to that point he was getting away with it.
Again Manny lands a good punch and thought MAYBE I can end it right here..but he had Marquez in front of him..a True warrior..one that doesn't give in easily. Marquez started to fight back desprately against the ropes.

To ME it looked like Marquez was moving his head to the left to avoid a punch while throwing a "back up off me manny so I can gather myself a bit" kinda punch. The punch was thrown with alota force in an attempt to fight himself off the ropes. I don't even think HE thought that punch would land..less alone be with so much force it would knockout Manny but more like.. Hey if I can hurt this guy alittle MAYBE I can buy myself some time...enough to get back into the fight. Marquez was behind on the score cards at that time in the fight. So lets get this right people..Marquez lands ONE PUNCH that completely KO's Pacquiao:hmm: To me It was a good punch but also a lucky punch to have landed RIGHT ON THE BUTTON IMO..because it appeared HE himself was about to be KO'd or at least knock down again..he was hurt and fighting in desprate mode..ALL fighters are dangerous in such a survival mode..that same shit happen years ago to
"Carl The Truth Williams" He was beating the shit outta dude against the ropes when out of nowhere the other dude lands a haymaker of a right hand on the chin..nite nite fight over.:itsawrap:

This usually happens to fighters that BRING IT! The ones that are the aggresser Manny knew if HE didn't bring it to marquez most likely Marquez was gonna lay back plot..wait...counter punch grab & hold here and there..the fight would be less exciting so he took a chance..but the gamble didn't go his way this time.My only complaint against Manny's fighting style is that he lunges at times against good fighters and THAT can spell disaster when in front of the right guy "Marquez"...in this case it proved to be the WRONG time and against the wrong fighter to pull such a move. Marquez has ALWAYS been a good fighter/counter puncher.. he AND his brother. At one time I thought his brother looked to be the better of the two because he was good at counter punching PLUS he would always be the aggresser in the fight. When a fighter is being aggressive with an outstanding counter puncher these are the risks you take. Manny has NOTHING to be ashamed of..he did his thang and was doing his thang when he got caught.

Damn good fight while it lasted IMO.Will there be a 5th fight? I think so because of the dramatic way this one ended. IMO if there IS a 5th fight and Manny lays back when he is ahead on the score cards he will assure an easy when most likely..will it be as exciting as THIS one was? nope. Manny try's to always be a crowd pleaser (the kind of fighter I prefer) so my hat goes off to you Manny Pacquiao sir and if you retire off this loss I thank you for all the EXCITMENT you brought into the ring and to the sport of boxing:bravo:

It's was pointed out that Floyd makes people want to see him get KO'd. This is total truth. End of the day stuff, total truth.
Paq getting endorsements and making a name for himself on Floyd mayweather back? LMBAO. Some of this sounds like begging to bring back that sick payday Paq and May could've had. I believe Paq was juicing all day, but he made his own name. The excitement he brought to the ring was what made him money; not Floyd.
Floyd has tailored many of his fights with people he knew he could beat. Don't get me wrong he is a beast but some fights Floyd knew he could just point out. Floyd says he will fight 2 times in 2013, lets see who he picks. He will not fight Canello alverez; would love to see him fight Corny ass Adrien Bronner but it will probably be someone else's scraps.

Will these two just fight got damnit. Even after all the shenanigans it would be the fight of the decade.

I agree with all except Manny piggybacked off his name. Manny is clearly a star in his own right. Floyd may be the bigger draw but why does he act likes Manny is fighting in YMCA's...Manny needs the money because he's taking care of too many people, not because his fights aren't doing numbers.

That analysis was in surround sound and 3D.

Thanks

I disagree, it would've been. Both fighters should be looking elsewhere for fights. I as a boxing fan won't order that just like Paq vs Marqeuz IV. Timothy Bradley or Canello alverez are the top dogs at 147 and 154. Paq got beat by Bradley, I would pay to see Floyd fight one of these guys. Bradley is a great fight for Floyd since he did beat Paq; alverez hits too hard and will probably be ducked.
All this shit would be avoided if a belt meant something.

Floyd is very happy he's beside himself! He's that dude once again they can't deny him, time for another safe tune up bout

Good analysis but wasn't shit Lucky about that Marquez punch

All 3 fights prior Juan landed his licks on Manny, judges robbed Juan on that b.s manny would just thrown volume punches that don't even land.... Shit is comical

Juan counter punched and landed on Manny all fuckin day... That Juan punch was only a matter of time before Manny got caught... Simple as that

He punches and lung at the same time leaving himself completely exposed

There's a vid on YouTube now of Juan with his sparring partner mimicking manny and in true fashion caught his sparring partner with the same punch

as far as i'm concerned the undefeated champion can say whatever the fuck he wants
thought that was one of the benefits of being the champ:dunno:
