Maybe there’s some reason for hope: Christianity on the decline in the U.S.

Man, I'm bailing on this thread...I sense a battle royale brewing on the horizon.

Yes and a lot of colorful Christian sayings along with it. LOL!

Code:
bool believe = true; //indicates whether heathens are speaking ill of Jesus' people.

if(!believe)
{
  Msg("Cast not pearls before swine");
}
elseif()
{
  ...//add other colorful saying or bible quote.
}
else

It was written:

And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray. 5 For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.

9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name's sake. 10 And then many will fall away [1] and betray one another and hate one another. 11 And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. 12 And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But the one who endures to the end will be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

Wow. I was just about to say something to this effect. But even this was written. It is only natural for man to stray to this point. Especially with the aide of these false prophets in the pulpit. Sadly folks associate the church with these fake ministers and patrons. But as it is written, all this MUST take place. So why worry.

I'm not one of the most religous people but I do consider myself a Christian and a believer in God and Jesus. However, you are definitely entitled to your own opinion and beliefs and I can't and won't attempt to change your judgment or beliefs. For this one I will agree to disagree with you

here's a few more:

Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

do whatcha want to with it.

So you agree with the twisted revisionists such as Constantine the Sun Worshiper, King James The Super Homo Sexual or the "I Love the Vienna Choir Boys...YES, I REALLY LOVE THEM" Popes of Rome? Come on, brother...

Re: Maybe there’s some reason for hope: Christianity on the decline in the U.S.

Do you know any adherents to pre-Roman Christianity?

It's sketchy at best, I'm more familiar with how Roman officials distorted Christianity to fit their world view than pre-Roman Christianity.

If you know more please do tell me.

this quote may give some insight on the term "christian".

A correspondence of Emperor Hadrian to Servianus refers to Alexandrian worshippers of Serapis calling themselves ‘Bishops of Christ’:

'Egypt, which you commended to me, my dearest Servianus, I have found to be wholly fickle and inconsistent, and continually wafted about by every breath of fame. The worshipers of Serapis (here) are called Christians, and those who are devoted to the god Serapis (I find), call themselves Bishops of Christ.'
–Hadrian to Servianus, 134A.D. (Quoted by Giles, ii p86)

this was also referenced in "the secret teachings of all ages" by manly p. hall

fyi,... The earliest mention of a Serapis is in the disputed death scene of Alexander (323 BC).

I have "the secret teachings of all ages" too but have not read much of it at all. Time to hit the books.

Brother cozmic, the "christians" of good character you speak of are victims. I call them CVs...Christian Victims...or Christianity's Victims if you will. Well meaning folk that have been fed a placebo to keep them forever enslaved as spiritual infants. Their good character can not be attributed to their study or adherence to Christianity. I suspect if they actually study Christianity or at least read the bible then they'd no longer want to be Christian. That is part of the absurdity of it all. I have learned that one can only be Christian if he either a) Knows nothing about it, b) Not intelligent enough to comprehend it, c) too lazy to study it, or d) overcome with guilt with the lives he/she has led previously.

I do not wish harm on these people. I simply wish them cured of their poisoning because their poisoning has had ill effect on our whole community. Why do I call it a placebo? Christianity doesn't teach any daily spiritual discipline. Hell, at least Islam has the 5 daily prayers concept...but I digress. Christianity has not made any of these people more peaceful. On the contrary, they give in to their beastly nature and attempt to kill anyone or anything that doesn't agree with their myth. How can anyone who claims to be at peace with Earth and all Earthlings (incl. animals) actually follow such an intolerant blood thirsty God as portrayed in the Christian bible? Go to hell if you don't believe in Jesus? :( Then people like myself are called intolerant for pointing out the intolerance of Christianity, Christians, and the bible. Hey, I didn't write the book. Just giving my review.

Fam, I will not be a part of any religion that preaches intolerance and hate. And I will not give it a pass just because millions of people were conquered then force fed this foolishness to the point of no longer wanting to resist it.

So no, sir, there is no evil agenda from wiZe. Please don't confuse me loving my people with having an evil agenda. Please read the bible. Please study African history. Please study Christian history. Study world history. Don't just speak from emotion, fam. That's what killing us too.

man i been trying to sy this my whole life, thanx!

I was reading up on Serapis and found these quotes from "the secret teachings of all ages"

Manly P Hall said:
The identity of the Greco-Egyptian Serapis (known to the Greeks as Serapis and the Egyptians as Asar-Hapi) is shrouded by an impenetrable veil of mystery. While this deity was a familiar figure among the symbols of the secret Egyptian initiatory rites, his arcane nature was revealed only to those who had fulfilled the requirements of the Serapic cultus. Therefore, in all probability, excepting the initiated priests, the Egyptians themselves were ignorant of his true character. So far as known, there exists no authentic account of the rites of Serapis, but an analysis of the deity and his accompanying symbols reveals their salient points. In an oracle delivered to the King of Cyprus, Serapis described himself thus:

''A god I am such as I show to thee,
The Starry Heavens are my head, my trunk the sea,
Earth forms my feet, mine ears the air supplies,
The Sun's far-darting, brilliant rays, mine eyes."

Several unsatisfactory attempts have been made to etymologize the word Serapis. Godfrey Higgins notes that Soros was the name given by the Egyptians to a stone coffin, and Apis was Osiris incarnate in the sacred bull. These two words combined result in Soros-Apis or Sor-Apis, "the tomb of the bull." But it is improbable that the Egyptians would worship a coffin in the form of a man.

Several ancient authors, including Macrobius, have affirmed that Serapis was a name for the Sun, because his image so often had a halo of light about its head. In his Oration Upon the Sovereign Sun, Julian speaks of the deity in these words: "One Jove, one Pluto, one Sun is Serapis." In Hebrew, Serapis is Saraph, meaning "to blaze out" or "to blaze up." For this reason the Jews designated one of their hierarchies of spiritual beings, Seraphim.

Good ole sun worship, where have we seen that reoccurring theme before?

Serapis

all gods with a halo are solar dieties. the crown of thorns placed on his head was a veiled allegory to the sun. the thorns radiate out like sun rays. hell even the kings crown is a representation of the the sun. solar worship is deeply embedded in christianity and all other forms of religions. if you got a god who hung out with 12 disciples chances are he was the sun and they were the 12 signs of the zodiac.

I understand the point you are trying to get across brother but you talk about Christian Victims...What about those Christians that have gained good character from opening up Spiritually through actual Christian methods?...The way that the practitioner can awaken their own Spirit and find Truth for themselves is through the methods...I can only speak from experience on this subject, "Amen" is used by Christians and if you want to talk Spirituality if you chant it enough times then it will open up your Crown Chakra..The Crown Chakra is located on top of your head and is the opening for Divine Energy to flow into the being practiced these methods and I know because I have opened my Heart and Crown Chakra and experienced Divine Energy and have felt the effect of using it...There are Christian methods of Spirituality to draw in Divine Energy and invoke different attributes of God inside ourselves but most do not know of them and I know they work because I have used them...Alot of these methods are hidden from the public...If you chant the real name of Jesus that draws Divine Energy towards you as well...Bro, I am not even supposed to be even telling you these things and that is why I do not participate in most of these threads...Most of these threads are tests to see who knows the most facts while I can only speak from direct experience with the Divine and when I start going into the Esoteric realm most starting calling me crazy because they do not understand...Christianity as it was in the Original Church, when the Disciples received the Holy Spirit, was built off of awakening the Spirit of the seeker so unless you have tried their actual methods you cannot say that it leaves you "enslaved as spiritual infants" because in that case, how do you know?..Have you tried to use their methods to build Divine Energy in yourself? Not even their methods, have you built up any Spiritual Power? Can you see the auras of these people? Larry Jensen is one of the most powerful Spiritual Masters on the West right now and what is he? A Christian...His power is recognized by Spiritual Teachers who are non-Christian as well..See when you say Christian you group everyone together and there are some Christians who are so far removed from the descriptions you are giving...Some who could even awaken your Spirit if you came in contact with them..Some Christians who receive knowledge from Jesus directly...All of these prophets Jesus, Muhammad, Moses, and Adam..you can still contact them but you have to build up enough Spiritual Power....Brother, God is All Powerful...He can cause Wrath or Grace..Of course, he is All Powerful but his Essence is one of Love...One who has felt Divine Energy knows this..If you keep Love in your Heart no matter if you believe in God or not then you should have nothing to worry about because you are doing God's work in the first place...You are follow the principles of Christianity, Judaism, Taoism, Buddhism and Islam without having the label over you...Yes I have read the Bible and I honestly take alot of stuff in it with a grain of Salt..It was made by man and has been changed many times so for that reason I go directly to the Source...There is no denying it still has some Truths within it

There is speaking from emotion destructively and there is speaking of out of Right Emotion...It's all Love bro..Your Heart is in the right place and I understand you have love for your people, as do I, but even if you don't believe in Christianity you are throwing Negative energy out to people who don't even deserve it...There are good and bad people in every Religion some that are there being sincere and some using it for their own agendas...Those people need to be spoken out against...If these "Christian Victims" are following Christianity and they find Inner Peace, who are you to judge them just because they so happened to find Peace in Christianity? That might just be what they need at the moment, the Path don't end there...If he finds the principles that he needs to have a Peaceful life in the Bible then wants to call himself a Christian let him be...Thats no different then reading an thread on BGOL about Bruce Lee's philsophies, taking some of his principles and applying to your Life except that set of beliefs don't have a Religion behind it....Once you get on different levels Spiritually you begin to understand things in a different way because you perspective is changed, including scripture...We are all different...What is good for one might not fit the personality of the next man

Was there any where in my post that stated or mentioned anything you just said???? Nope! So I will say once again you are entitled to your own opinion and beliefs. Even though I highly disagree with your beliefs I respect them and won't cast judgment on you cause I have no right to do so.

Are followers of other religions similarly poisoned? Or is it restricted to Christianity?

If yes to the first and no to the second, do you also campaign against all other religions?

Re: Maybe there’s some reason for hope: Christianity on the decline in the U.S.

Those who are revolting against Christianity, may you kindly suggest what we must follow/ believe as a people?

Your race/nationality is your religion. Nothing more. Nothing less. That is the destiny.

I believe there are also a huge amounts of Agnostic and Atheist who are still in the closet so this number might very well be much larger.

"Let me give you a little inside information about God. God likes to watch. He's a prankster. Think about it. He gives man instincts. He gives you this extraordinary gift, and then what does He do, I swear for His own amusement, his own private, cosmic gag reel, He sets the rules in opposition. It's the goof of all time. Look but don't touch. Touch, but don't taste. Taste, don't swallow. Ahaha. And while you're jumpin' from one foot to the next, what is he doing? He's laughin' His sick, fuckin' ass off! He's a tight-ass! He's a SADIST! He's an absentee landlord! Worship that? NEVER! "

I always wondered why people that don't believe in God spend as much time as people that do spreading their beliefs. In the Bible, God wants his believers to spread his word to others, so it makes sense why Christians and all other religions are constantly spreading their belief. But why tha FUCK do atheist spend just as much time saying how stupid it is? If I didn't believe in God, I wouldn't give a fuck if you worshiped a booger. I would just keep on livin my damn life.
