I respect her for speaking up for her candidate and the person that she believes is most qualified for the job, even if it is at odds with who I am personally supporting. Since when does any of yall's opinion hold more weight than any one else's? If someone endorsed Obama as "an African, an American, an an African-American — my nigga," all you'd hear is race stories for two days.

That's a bit of an exaggeration/joke, but female drones are allowed to blatantly support Clinton on the basis of gender without comment from the media but blacks have to pretend to be color-blind or risk being marginalized.

As uninformed as Americans are in general, of course it's true that, as Bill Clinton said, some people will vote only based on race or gender. What's gone under the radar is the fact that Obama has to take great pains to run away from this while Hillary embraces her much greater advantage (50% of the population vs. 15%) and gets a pass.

And who is hillary appealing to by using this ad? The demographic she hopes NOT to lose to Obama? 65+ BLACK PEOPLE. The people white racists always use to pit against younger African Americans. That's my take anyway.

Whites, I don't believe will care two shits about Maya Angelo or even know who she is. Moreover, I won't cast dispersions on the woman because she is an icon and what she represents to us. However, it's clear how this paid endorsement will be used.

Now, the CBC endorsements, I don't forgive because 90% of those cats need to GO and they are most likely getting shit in return for shitting on a member of their own damn caucus (Obama is a CBC MEMBER).

All these other oldheads, I can FULLY understand because they threw all their eggs in the Clinton basket YEARS ago assuming the Clintons were the best they'd get in their lifetime. Oprah KNEW Obama form Chi, so I can see her having his back, but I wouldn't expect to see too many of these older black folks supporting him (especially ones that already took the pledge to the Clintons in the 90's). You gotta realize, other than a few years of Jimmy Carter that went NOWHERE and the 8 years of Clinton, these foilks have been dealing with the same bullshit for 30 years, so they literally fell in LOVE with the Clintons.
