Because he doesnt cost a lot to pay (our owner's biggest concern) and he was his QB coach his first 2 years. I do agree Shula as an OC is not very good. Overall our offense is not very good. It flourished 2 years ago, but a lot of players (Steve Smith, Jordan Gross, DeAngelo Williams, etc) are on the down side of their careers. I would like for us to go out and get some "Cam Newton" guys on offense. All of our best players on O are Jake Delhomme holdovers.

White QBs keep white fans interested in the game. Thats why a former #1 overall pick like Carson Palmer (who's never won a playoff game) can keep getting chance after chance and a guy like VY (who has talent, won games, and led a team to the playoffs before) cant after struggling early.

Whether it was bad media or VY's own doing, he's got a bad look that most QBs (black or white) just don't have. Getting into fights at a strip club and the supposed suicide thing really put a damper on his image esp for a leadership role like the QB position. Unfortunately he hasn't looked consistent either for a long time to counter all that shit as well.
