Marvel:INFINITY WAR (discussion thread)

TRUTH...you are correct, 100%

but fam...that man had to pay for his OWN insurance.

That is saying something

and Marvel wasn't even popping yet.

but its not REALLY important, not even discussion worthy

al parties had a whole lot to lose if this went left.

it just shows how smart and trusting all parties were to making this WHOLE thing WORK.

salute Sam Jackson too.

damn now I kinda sort feel bad for Terrence Howard

I had to look it up cause I was wrong... it was the singing Detective that was the film and Freaking Mel Gibson paid off the insurance money....

Which is all kinds of irony. This was years before Mel's rasict rant.

Singing Detective was a GOOD flick for RDJ

and yeah it WAS Mel, DAMN.

Lets just LEAVE that (Jodie Foster and RDJ NEVER left that dude either which is saying a whole lot!)

But the pint it DISNEY wants paying it neither was Favrau.

That shows you just how far he had fallen.

And look now?

WOW.

sidebar: I always hoped Anell (Green Arrow) would be that figure for WB/DC TV super hero universe.

A lot of these characters have got to be in the second Avengers sequel its just too many, they have close to 30 in Infinity War, jeez shit is major.

Ok am I missing something? I swear they said there was only going tho be one infinity wars movie, not two....

:dunno:
They switched the 2nd one due out in 2019 to a 'stand alone' untitled avengers movie.

I believe thats some misdirection they trying to pull. There is no way to contain all this epicness in one movie.

Naw,both movies were called Infinity War Part 1 & 2,but Marvel changed it and made the first movie Infinity War because the second movie will be different than the first one..

Rumor has it that the second movie will be called Infinity Gauntlet.Something I don't understand, because I would of thought the first movie would be called Infinity Gauntlet.

Why is marvel playing with us just release the day trailer mane. And the hold out for black panther joint is pissing me off as well.

Ant-Man And The Wasp - July 6, 2018

For a long time, it looked like Marvel Studios didn't have a ton of confidence in a sequel to Ant-Man, but things have changed in a significant way. The company once again altered their lineup of films in Phase 3 in order to fit Ant-Man And The Wasp - a direct sequel to Peyton Reed's Ant-Man that will retain its director.

Just geeking out to robs discussion of Thor ragnarok

While watching he mentioned the Panther God bast, which gives the black panther the ability to communicate with previous BP.

He hinted that this could be the missing infinity soul gem.

In the past it was thought heimdal was the soul gem (or had access to it) which would make this little Easter egg AWESOME

jDDrz.jpg

Of course we now know heimdal is NOT connected with the soul gem and the Panther God bast (who is now the best bet for the soul gem) does not start with the needed H to fulfill this awesome act of geekdom....

But the full name Bast-Hathor DOES!!!!

Of course we now know heimdal is NOT connected with the soul gem

How do we now know this???

SPOILER ALERT...

It wasn't confirmed or denied that Heimdal does or doesnt possess the Soul Gem within him. His ability to see ALL the souls in the universe screams its him...PLUS the mid-credit scene of Thanos pulling up on their ship means that he tracked the Space Gem (Tesseract that Loki stole) and the Soul Gem (Heimdal) to that Ship...flash forward to the Infinity War Trailer and it looks like he obliterated that ship to get them and left Thor floating in space. Lastly, Idris is too big of an actor to just play a glorified space doorman.

How the Threat of Thanos Brings the Avengers and Black Panther Back Together in Infinity War

It’s June 7, 2017, the 59th day of shooting Avengers: Infinity War at Atlanta’s Pinewood Studios, and Wakanda is getting crowded. We’re on the set, watching Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Rhodie (Don Cheadle), Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), and Vision (Paul Bettany) land a Quinjet in the secretive African country, seeking the help of the Black Panther.

Though this is day 59 of Infinity War’s seven-month shoot, this is the first day this many Marvel characters are on screen together in this movie, according to Mark Ruffalo, who sat down with reporters along with Chadwick Boseman last June. Boseman—who went directly from filming Black Panther, also in Atlanta, to filming Infinity War—explained how this scene happening in Wakanda makes sense for both the movie and the production.

“The difficulty in making a movie like this [is] you have to see the flavor of each one of [the characters],” Boseman said. “So... in this situation, you’re seeing them in my world. They’re in my world, so it’s interesting to have them enter our space, which is not something that happens all of the time. I think it’s important for us to give the flavor of Wakanda. And they’re really adjusting to our space, so that will be part of the fun of the movie.”

“There goes the neighborhood,” Ruffalo quipped.

All kidding aside, Boseman discussed how T’Challa and his fellow Wakandans are nervous that the Avengers have come to their country seeking help against Thanos—but they’re also understanding. “You have a world problem with Thanos,” Boseman explained. “So Wakanda is on the world stage and we’re obviously advanced in a way where we can help with the situation, so that is all that’s happening here.”

Bruce Banner definitely has some concerns.

According to Ruffalo, Bruce Banner returns to Earth with way more knowledge about Thanos than any of the other characters, likely a result to whatever happens to him in the Asgardian spaceship following the events of Thor: Ragnarok.

“[Banner’s] really trying to impress on everybody how dangerous [Thanos] is,” Ruffalo said. “He comes in screaming bloody murder. He’s seen what damage he can cause and how powerful he is—and the entire group is in disarray, so he’s also getting caught up on what’s happened here and is trying to get them to transcend their differences and impress upon them how much danger they’re actually facing.”

Facing that danger isn’t just Black Panther, Captain America, Black Widow, Rhodie, Bruce Banner, Falcon, Scarlett Witch, and Vision, though. There’s also Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Spider-Man (Tom Holland), Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), the Guardians of the Galaxy, and maybe even Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Captain Marvel (Brie Larson, who had a mailbox on the Infinity War set despite no announcement her character would be in the movie, but more on that soon). All of those characters will be needed to defeat the Thanos, making Infinity War a beyond-massive undertaking.

“There’s no way to overcome what they’re facing without, in some way, coming to terms with their differences and embracing their diversity,” Ruffalo said. “That’s essentially a core value of the film and that together, only together, can they triumph.”

But this is just scratching the surface of the film. We’ll have much more from the set of Avengers: Infinity War in the coming days, including interviews with directors the Russo Brothers, writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, and actors Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Danai Gurira, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen, and others.

New Trailer Tomorrow

A new TV spot for Avengers: Infinity War played on CBS during their March Madness coverage on Thursday morning, promoting the new trailer which will arrive on Friday.

"Avengers, the end is near," Thanos ominously tells Earth's mightiest heroes in the video above. Small bits of new footage are packed into, as well, such as Iron Man soaring through the skies and a ship crashing on to Titan.

Disney and Marvel Studios had, earlier, released a trailer teaser announcing the full trailers arrival coming onFriday, March 16, 2018. The teaser trailer, seen above, offers a glimpse at what will be a pile of new footage arriving soon. The Mad Titan himself might just be throwing a moon at the Avengers in this new footage, as was advertised by the first screening of footage at Disney's D23 Expo. After all, "balancing the universe" does "put a smile" on his face. Originally, Avengers: Infinity War was set for release on May 4, 2018 but the studio moved the U.S. release date up by a week, likely in an effort to dodge the also moved up Deadpool sequel release on May 18. Now, the third Avengers film is set to arrive on April 27, 2018.
