Martin's standup has always been blaaaahhhh,great host,great tv show,decent comedic actor but when it's him,a stage,a mic and audience Martin has always been blaaaaahhhhh.

Yooo Martin is and always will be that dude. Leave him alone. He's living his best life and gave you the best of his art. He's telling different jokes now, because he's eating well. chappelle is doing the same shit, its just yall confused about his observational humor as being on some next level shit but he's doing it from the same place as others who have plateaued.
Im talking about the man, not the clip. Pick your favorite whoever and I'm sure you can compile a clip of their misses. A clip don't tell the whole story. Martins career and art can be compared to one of the legit best.

imo, one of the things that makes comedians funny is they are just short of being totally unhinged...the funniest ones are indeed crazy, and it eventually catches up to them off stage...the trials and tribulations that martin went through, and the treatment for such, probably saved his life...but took away his fastball. i immediately thought 'this dude is medicated'
i grew on the 90's martin...def comedy and the series...it'll never be that again...

its a clip for starters... every comedian has filler shit... but what else can martin say that you have not heard before? Mofo put eddie murphy on some shrine but all he did was two comedy specials.. Delirious was on some real funny shit... but that 2nd one he did was just him trying to work through his anger of his fiance leaving him. EM hasn't done a stand up comedy because he ain't in that space anymore. Same with martin.. what is he gonna say that you haven't heard him say or others say? Its' hard to be marty mar when everyone expect you to just shit out jokes on demand. What i saw in the clip was martin trying to read his audience and find his groove. the clip doesn't tell the whole story. He gets a pass for me. Until i see a whole show thats a train wreck.. i'll keep giving him a pass for his past art.
naw.. its easy to be funny in small spaces.. but try to do 90mins and we will see eddie bomb a few jokes. If you take away telling you funny stories about his celebrity friends and lifestyle, he won't have much to work with. We will never get another delirious from eddie. If eddie really had it and wanted it, he would have done a comedy tour by now. Instead, he much more comfy on some talk show couch for 5-10mins segments. I love me some Eddie but he ain't got it like that no more.
I'm not gonna agree with that. When a lot of what he does comedy wise on screen is improv. Honestly we won't know cuz I'm not sure he wants to fully commit to it, but he'd damn sure be better than what Martin comes up with these days.
