Marines: Most Female Recruits Don't Meet New Pullup Standard

That's a bad pic. Those wouldn't count in a PFT and I'm sure the guy doing the counting wasn't counting that because of the kip. Straight up straight down, no kipping. Straight dead hangs.

yeah i figured that

real shit pull ups is one of the hardest exercises for me. I work out on the regular and i still struggle with them. When i work out i do 3 sets of 15 and that shit be killing me

If they can't do the same as the men they shouldn't get the same pay. My girl was telling me on a police show how the woman cop couldn't kick the door in. I said she shouldn't be a cop then. She was like well its harder. fuck that equal pay

Thats not right. Cuz women also can negotiate better with criminals then men without using force so it equal out

You know ... its amazing the perspective you are able to achieve the longer you are away from something. I did 24 yrs JSOC (1st 4 enlisted) and it always baffled my mind when I saw young male and female marines spending their off duty time getting absolutely ripped...only to barely make it or have to re-test their PFT. To make my point more clearly, its more about the rangey, not quite distance runner look as opposed to being the gruesome middle linebacker type. All muscle has to be functional, and your ability to remain properly oxygenated is paramount. Even now at nearly 45 I am still able to complete a 300 PFT...cannot seem to build more lean muscle (188...about 15lbs lighter than when I served) but thats a conversation for the fitness thread right? Semper Fi, Happy New Year brothers!!!

With all the women getting raped and the military covering them up why would any woman enlist?

20 pullups for a perfect score. Then, 80 situps in 2:00 minutes (I could be wrong about the time). Then, run 3 miles in 18 minutes.

When I was in and in the best shape of my life I was able to do my 20 pullups and 80 situps. But I never ran 3 miles in 18 minutes. My best run time was in the high 19's.

3 miles in 18 mins...man my best time was doing it 26 mins:lol:..sheeeeiiiiit!!!

This is not surprising, on a good day when I was in the best shape of my life, over 400lb bench, I could eek out 10 while straining like a mofo on the last 3. That is a haaard exercise plus most mofos hate doing them, I know I did.

Now what ain't being said is that woman shouldn't be fucking around in combat because they are not equipped for that shit and are not bred to be disposable like men were bred to be. This fact has nothing to do with a pullup, situp, pushup, etc.

Life is all fucked up and roles are being reversed to the detriment of our fucked up civilization.:smh:

3 miles in 18 is fucking sick. I use to hate our 12 min run were the d line had to do 1.5 in 12 while the skills had to do 2 in 12, which is the same fucked up pace as the marines.

I hate running too, I only do the shit because it is necessary not because I enjoy it like cacs enjoy it, lol.

shit i aint gon lie I was never a PT stud...

3 pullup minimum = ME

and dude is right about that gym shit too. dudes lifting major weight but cant pull themselves up
once. before the workout. ever.

I always give this look:hmm::hmm: in threads about fitness when guys talk that "oh he weak, i warm up with such and such weight" or like in this thread act like the 3 pullups are so easy. I work out 4-5 days a week doing some of everything, pushing something like 225 and doing like 3 pullups is easy to me NOW but i know what it took to get to that level

i did about 1.5 in 9.48. Females fail pt requirement the most in all branches. even with their smaller numbers

That's cool. Back in the late 80's they use to put hands on you during the Drill Instructor Ambush.

It's 100 in 2:00 minutes. Don't forget implemented the Combat Fitness Test(CFT) a few years ago.....

Never ran a 300 in my almost 20 years. 297 was the highest achieved. Best Run Time 17:36 in okinawa 1997. Current Run Time about 22:10. Im almost 38 and can beat most of the young Marines in my section. Non Infantry Marines don't PT that much anymore. When I was a boot, PT was at least 3 times a week.

The Corps should consider abandoning the pull up standard for females. Go back to the flex arm hang, and let males kip on the pullups. That's how you level the playing field since the complaint was that females were getting over on the flex arm hang, scoring more points and causing a scoring disparity.
