If I recall correctly you break the bones below the knee and that gets you like 2 inches but the other surgery you break the legs above the knee and that gives you about 3 inches

I'm 6'4", and there are some definite advantages, but most of my life I was extremely thin, so that negated them. Put on significant weight over the past 6 years and it's like... wow, if only I was 50lbs heavier when I was in my 20's... I'm getting a hint of the advantages now, but I'm old, so it ain't the same as it would have been back then.
