Since it seems like every Kryptonian that comes to Earth is superhumanly powerful, he's probably a regular guy. The whole red sun thing and I imagine Krypton had massive, Jupiter-like gravity.

He is more powerful because of his lifetime exposure to the Yellow Sun - it like him being on PEDs from infancy -

Yes he has been exposed to the yellow sun so that does make him much stronger, and on krypton he would be a probably a very gifted athlete but just like everyone else essentially. However it looks like they are going with the angle that has Zod and company sensitive to the earths atmosphere and needing time to adjust to the yellow sun...which is why they are all wearing space suits lookin like the aliens from Battleship. I would probably go as far to say that fact is how Supes beats them all. This plot device was used in smallville and in the DC animated feature Allstar Superman.

Honestly, if it can pull at least 400-500mil it would be a huge success. Anything else would just be icing...
If the storyline is on par with the action it should do well! This has been the ONLY movie i've wanted to see this year.
It'll do the numbers barring any weird unrelated snafus that impact peoples wallets.

They've also gone a slightly different route this time around: The longer he's on earth, the more powers he develops, and we will see him use a couple of powers that he's never used before in any of the movies.
Superman's suit is a style of suit that's worn by all Kryptonians, but they also wear armor over the suit. On Krypton, Superman would be defenseless without the armor.
One other thing I'm interested in seeing: The world's reaction to finding out that Superman exists. In all previous films, Clark goes from a kid to an adult to Superman with little to no fanfare. In MOS, the news of Superman causes people to question everything.

I've always been under the impression that since Clark was a child, he's been soaking up and built an immunity (non lethal) to it. As opposed to someone who would just arrive to earth. They will benefit from the sun (powers) but it would surely poison and kill them (Ala All star Superman). Isn't that why the people of Kandor lived under a red sun, as the rays of the yellow sun would prove deadly to them?
