Man Joe need to go ahead and retire.

Handlers or not. Doesn't matter. It's a President's job to put capable people in position to make the best decisions. Trump's problem has always been that he doesn't want, nor does he use capable people or decent handlers, and on top of that makes poor decisions when actually in charge

When you surround yourself with incompetence, there's no chance for success to build a car that goes anywhere

The only reason the car went anywhere between 2016 and 2020 was because it was on a hill that Obama created. Once the car hit the bottom of the hill it was over

As
We have people making decisions based on ideals from 40 to nearly 60 years ago, and that's considered in touch with today's realities?

This outdated perspective is putting seats, like those on the Supreme Court, in jeopardy at the worst possible time.

Wreaks of selfishness and the ability to not read the room.

Ideals from 40 to nearly 60 years ago:

Women are to be wined, dined, impressed, married and valued as a partner for raising a family.

Gay people exist in your community, we all know who they are, and we peacefully coexist.

Girls use the Girls' bathrooms at school; boys use the Boys' bathroom.

People with penises are called boys/men. People with vaginas are called girls/women.

Gangsters did what they did, but never fucked with the kids nor the parents of the person with whom they had differences.

You had to know somebody in order to buy dope in a Black neighborhood.

Popular music focused on subject matter such as love, peace, fantasy, good times, and other positive themes.

Thugs were something respectable Black people avoided like the plague. They were considered "NOK", not our kind.

Calling a Black woman a bitch meant you were ready to engage in physical combat.

People actually raised their own kids, as opposed to letting the streets/schools/internet do it for them.

Welfare was for people who needed a TEMPORARY safety net to regroup and re-establish their lives.

I can go on.

What do you have offer to support your point of departure?

My bad. Idioms are probably not a good idea here.... as is evidenced by your lack of fluidity with English, Comrade.

Ahem... I mean, Bro.

Your turn.

I think the assumption in both these statements is that the President, whomever he may be, is making these decisions with such lofty intentions as surrounding himself with the most capable people. Much of the time, it's just a matter of political payback, good and bad.

For example, I think this why we have (Milquetoast) Garland as AG. He got screwed out of his intended position on the SCOTUS (which Obama and company SHOULD HAVE FOUGHT TOOTH AND NAIL FOR, BUT INSTEAD ROLLED OVER, ARCHED THEIR COLLECTIVE BACKS, AND SAID "PLEASE BE GENTLE"), so he got the AG position as a consolation.

That being said, Obama set us up for the impending doom that is the possible outcome of the next election. Due to his inaction, tRump appointed three psychotically theocratic authoritarian Catholics to the court (as if we needed another one).
Mind you, I voted for the man (the alternative was quite frightening then), but the Obama's took the following
approach to political combat:

Beat the living shit out of your opponent's knees with your nuts. Eventually, you will wear him down, his knees will give out, and bipartisanship will rain from the skies line manna from heaven.

This has never worked. The opposite DOES work, which is why tRump is on the precipice of possibly winning again.
