Not necessarily. It depends on the type of jellyfish. If it was a box jellyfish, yeah his ass would have been dead, but they usually keep away from other creatures. If it was real (I doubt it) he might have gone into anaphylactic shock but would most likely just been screaming from the pain. If it was a Portuguese Man o' War (which isn't a jellyfish but a hydrazoan) he would have probably died right on the spot.

Oh, one last thing: Stay the hell away from Australia...it harbors like 6 out of the 9 or 10 most venomous animals in the world...
