Maino and Trinidad James phone convo

1. Whoever recorded that convo is a true lame
2. That's imo one of the problems with NYC ... MC's is tryin to be reality tv stars, drug dealers, fashion icons, tough guys, etc BUT AIN'T NOBODY HARDLY IN THE BOOTH NO MORE... there is no HUNGER
3. The other problem is that NYC is delusional.. a 'white' man in canada invented basketball... to everyone outside of NYC yall complaining is equivalent to Steve Nash crying about canada being the birthplace of basketball.. WHO CARES... mean while NYers is buying and playing more down south trash than people down south!!

The business aspect alone makes it impossible for NY to succeed... see when the music industry collapsed ... the Major Labels kept trying to squeeze blood out of that rock and artists can't eat.. down south they more independent so they can still put music out get it played on the radio etc

i think maino could've had him wear a smurf outfit and do the twist in da vid the way how james was sounding shook..dat would've been funnier and classic..he be like u kno what tomorrow papa smurf outfit and do the twist while screaming ny is the greatest place on earth or the next time i see u it's gonna be problems..man good thing i wasn't there cause i would've been like do all that shit and say it in a popeye voice to nig:lol::lol:juss on some clown shit

Hip Hop Battles:

1980s - MC Shan and KRS One Beef leads to legendary hits The Bridge and South Bronx.

1990s - Break up of NWA led to hits like No Vaseline (Ice Cube) and Fuckin With Dre (Dre and Snoop)

2000s - Nas and Jay Z's beef leads to Ether and Takeover

2010s - Maino and Trinidad James Beef leads to a worldstar taped phone conversation.

Do you see something wrong with this picture?

And that's why the culture is messed up bro, attitudes like that you're displaying.

This is about respecting the home of fucking hip hop man, if it wasn't for NY that coon wouldn't be getting money like he is.

Nobody gives fuck you say....well if you guys care about the culture and had respect and love for the birthplace you wouldn't say thing's like that. NY created this shit and we have to respect that no matter what. Go watch Style Wars, Beat Street, Wildstyle and maybe you'll have a better appreciation and respect for it all, they created it and paved the way for us all.

Doesn't matter if Maino is relevant or not he knows the culture and knows that you cannot disrespect people on their own turf like that, it's wrong.

Culture been fucked up since corporate money got involved. .this is rap now ain't no hip hop..and if the crappers respected the culture they wouldn't out out the shit they do..

Respect now is the dollar....

This playing phone calls is bitchmade

Actually, James is embodying hip hop presently. Its disrespectful nature. It disrespects woman big time, despite knowing the first emcee and still going strong is a female.

The stigma that the b boy is too old rap. The crabby attitude of New Yorkers help keep that stigma. Plus, the east bit that grimy attitude from the west twenty years ago.

Maino cant stomach the truth and people saying it keep him bitter.

Manio,

Know the dudes that will buy this bullshit! He is going to play gangster 1 too many times.

Making a threat over the phone considered a felony and a form of terrorism (TERRORIST THREAT)? The Feds should come get this CLOWN.

If he is a MC? And Manio is mad about what another MC said, regarding anything make an answer record...If this is HIP-HOP? And they keeping it all true to HIP-HOP.

MY BAD THEY ARE NOT MC'S THEY ARE ONLY TERRIBLE EXCUSES FOR "rappers"!

I didn't comment on "trinidad shame" because he don't matter. Like cats think.

I agree 100%.

niggas really get defensive over a fuckin city got damn. is the shit really ever this serious tho?

Man people are defensive over their city, hood all day/night, but it's still laughable.

Trinidad James ethered himself when he wore a skirt/pantyhose, but now he's got cats lining up to ether him.

Maino has always been a bully lmaoooooo, smacked a few rap dudes up I was the one of first cat to interview him years ago when he first came out on my website.

I asked him how can you say "I run Brooklyn" and he said "My g, I'm comfortable in my space" I thought that was a bold statement for someone to make back then but hey he definitely backs it up.

What threat did he make

Why the fuck is loyalty to some shit white people OWN so damn important?

I was thinking a similar thing. That city loyalty shit is a juvinile mentality. I used to think like that more so than now. I understand where manio is coming from, but ain't that ninja much older than Trinidad? Manio and trin could literally be related by blood but niggas would rather fight over a fucking a city instead. I could see real estate tycoons doing this and it making sense tho.. Lol

I respect what Maino said. This needed to be said. You can't allow this kind of shit to go unchecked. Trinidad James issued a challenge, he can't get mad that his challenge was accepted.

Maino said all of the right shit. U couldn't do that shit in Detroit or LA or other places. Maino said Ive been there before over talking on stage or whatever but you issued a challenge and you went too far.

He also said this isnt about punking you or chumping you or disrespecting you, and its not about me, apologizing to me or whatever, its about apologizing to the city.

It may be ignorant to some people, but I agree 1000% with Maino. It had to be done, and he did it in a suprisingly mature and concise way. If he meant what he said about he don't give a fuck than he wouldn't have called Maino and wouldn't have made the apology video. I have a new found respect for Maino.

Maino this is for you. If I bump into him in the club I'm buying him a bottle.

Somebody had to check him though fam

He was getting too comfortable talking reckless

Exactly!

  you ain't a crook son, you just a shook one!
:eek::eek::lol:
do you believe maino cares about the culture?

Yes i do, he seems to have alot of NY pride like most NYer's.

Culture been fucked up since corporate money got involved. .this is rap now ain't no hip hop..and if the crappers respected the culture they wouldn't out out the shit they do..

I agree with most of what you're saying bro. But the corporations has BEEN involved, we still had hip hop when they were involved and people still had city pride and respect for there cities all at the same time, but hey, let these niggas kill each other :dunno: :smh:

:dunno: but hey...

Very wrong type of question to ask me. I'm anti christianity. And 2. That shit doesn't belong to black people either. So yes i would ask why the hell are you worried about paper and faux leather. As a matter of fact i DO ask black people why they still practice such a thing.

But that's not the same thing. This is not the same thing.

Man, shut up hoe. Why don't y'all go listen to some dyke music. Techno and raunchy porn jazz music.

Yeah he definitely gave Trinidad James and a lot of people a life lesson with this conversation. It's true too, when Trinidad James said something to the effect of "I don't give a fuck come see me" he took it from a heart to heart convo with NY to an open challenge...the crowd even reacted when he said it. The entire crowd's vibe was on some: "bruh why you bringing this negative energy here? We just wanna hear some music". I think Maino handled this professionally on the call...he sounded like he cared for TJ and was showing him the ropes. I have so much more respect for Maino after this...

I knew people were going to get mad at whoever checked trindad james. thats funny to me:lol::lol::lol::lol: You should be mad at Tjames.

And why are you saying its pussy to record a phone call? No its not, not the way folks be lying now days. If Maino didnt record the phone call all Tjames had to do was deny he talked to Maino and say he made a video so he could still get spins in NY.

TJ is what you call a Johhny Come Lately. He tried to jump on the bandwagon but got the :hmm: instead.
 Ole Randy Watson ass ninja.....

What James and Maino said isn't going to change the fact that NY has lost a lot of it's culture starting before the wave of ATL.Back in the early 1990's with the westcoast and by 98 NY dudes was blooding and cripping:smh:.

Shout out to TroyAve support him and a select few that aint switching up to cross over.

It's only them ATL niggas on this board mad James got checked

now yall lame ot niccas gettin sensitive on the outcome of the situation because the call was documented. dude made a public video, so fair game to do the same

I don't care who recorded the shit. That's not important. What's important is who called who?? From the sound of it James called Maino!!!:smh::smh:

Now that's some sucka ass hoe shit. Like who the fuck is Maino for James to call him up and offer an explanation?:confused:
Nigga the ambassador of NY or some shit??

I would have just released the video and left it like that. Now James really look like a bitch.:smh::smh:

all of those where hip hop beefs, by saying if you wanna do something we can do it, you just took it to the street. the 50 ja rule beef also went to the street

:lol::lol::lol:

some yall taking this personal when its about trini, not the south. shouldnt stand behind bafoonery. pimp c got at ny "in a song before" which wasnt tooken this way, but this dude stepped outta bounds with this and some of yall followed him

Is Maino connected or something? This is the 3rd or 4th instance of him having some other rapper shook.

TO whoever said he's a regular street dude I'd have to disagree there. He did 10 years for kidnapping the connect. Not saying he's Nino Brown, but thats a notch above your average street dude. I would say Maino is a live dude and this is Trinidad James were talking about here, so in that sense it really doesn't even matter.

An authentic street cat in an industry of posers gets elevated to higher level.

What James and Maino said isn't going to change the fact that NY has lost a lot of it's culture starting before the wave of ATL.Back in the early 1990's with the westcoast and by 98 NY dudes was blooding and cripping:smh:.

This is true. NY Hip Hop is dead. Jay-Z is riding whatever wave he can to stay relevant. Nas is putting solid music out but every other year and his mainstream appeal is fading.
