You do know that's not what the original mac pros were "just" about right? Or maybe you don't.
Who doesn't need a mac pro that's easily upgradable? I own an original mac pro and that's what the advantage was. I paid 3k for it. Your saying "most don't need these specs" when it wasn't about that, it was about being able to upgrade as you wish (to eventuallyget the specs u wanted).
Their notebooks also used to be easily upgrade able until they started to solder components to the mother board.Again. BS. The form factor allowed for easy upgrades and swaps.

They obviously didn't have enough people like you purchasing Mac Pros to keep the price point where it was if you want those options.
Only time will tell if this decision will cost them.
