WrongMase and BIG put Puff on the map. End of story.
FYI.
Over the past few months, members from “Making Da Band” and others have been coming out being vocal against Sean Combs.
Just to let you know, Netflix released a documentary on Sean Combs recently. As you will figure it shows Sean as the greatest thing and it’s obviously one sided.
I haven’t seen it yet, but I suspect that is why these cats have been vocal against him, trying to get their side of the story in.
It’s a old documentary that didn’t get buzz, but now has become noticeable since being on Netflix.
Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop: A Bad Boy Story
2017
Sean `Puff Daddy' Combs overcomes adversity and tragedy to become a singer, songwriter, actor, record producer and entrepreneur.

Case in point. 2 years ago I bought a 2017 Kia Sportage with 27,000 MI for $13,500
I saw the carfax, but I didn't know what I was looking at. I bought the car.
I heard an ad from Kia saying bring your car in and we'll put you in a new car and keep your payment the same. I went in there and the salesman told me that my car had structural damage from before I bought it
That they couldn't take my car because of it because they couldn't sell it because it had structural damage
Now I'm kind of fucked. Luckily I don't have any issues with the car, but I've only got 52,000 miles on it because I work from home. That's just 25,000 MI in 2 years.
Now I got to ride this fucking thing to the wheels fall off. I should have read the contract. I should have read the Carfax. Because I didn't, I got screwed. I will know for the future, but this time I'm fucked
This is the thing that helped destroy rap music. Securing the bag compromised the art. The Lox were hood dudes, and to get that bag, they were dressed up like test pilots for the first NASA rocket. Whenever I argue music with someone, I note that art is subjective, but the excuse of "they getting money though" is not a solid defense of anything. The most important part of this interview is the last 3 secs. This nicca himself said "EVERYBODY is letting him get away with it". Welp, case closed.
Here go the truth. These niccas was just happy to have fame and seen constant money comin in while they was HOT. Thing was, it wasnt until yall got cold and them residual checks aint enough to sustain your lifestyle and you cant get another "hit" is when THESE stories come out because they have nothing but time to sit back and reminisce on their career and start seeing ish more clearly.
Most of their career, they was probably tipsy or high and just living life thinking this is how its always gonna be but now they like "Well now that I think about it, I dont think I ever got paid for that show in Dallas" and they start lookin at old bank statements and ish and realize how much money they lost. Hahaha

Making the band was all about keeping puffy name in the spotlight..if the band would’ve sold that would’ve just been a plus.. diddy is the ultimate self promoter and loves that shine.. a few yrs prior is when he did that Mohawk shit(which somehow got popular smh) and ran the nyc marathon.. I remember laughing like diddy know how to keep his name in the spotlight.. when he was able to get the rights to making the band even more spotlightWith all due respect, Making the Band showed how great this dude was.
One two occasions, he took a group of average to low talent having individuals and made them stars. They blew the bag.
I remember watching one episode and some9ne was threatening to quit.
Diddy said: "it's cold out there baby girl."
Lol!!!
I hear you. But here is some info you may not know.Making the band was all about keeping puffy name in the spotlight..if the band would’ve sold that would’ve just been a plus.. diddy is the ultimate self promoter and loves that shine.. a few yrs prior is when he did that Mohawk shit(which somehow got popular smh) and ran the nyc marathon.. I didn't know what I was looking at. I don't know, when looking at a strange document for the first time it's common to have it look like gobbledygook. So, that was my fault.Bro. Was the structural damage even on the Carfax?
Did you ever look at it? Just curious...
I’m aware of all of thi… otown wasn’t his group.. like I said diddy got the rights to the show after Lou pearlman was done with it..first seasons were on abc with otown under Lou pearlman.. than diddy got it and it was on mtv.. his bands went gold and better..he was making money off tv deal, plus promoting other shit, and like I said him making money off the actual sales were topping on the cakeI hear you. But here is some info you may not know.
There where 4 different MTB groups.
O-Town: Just one month after it released, the album was certified platinum by the RIAA. It eventually hit 1,700,000 copies, and over 3 million worldwide
Da Band: Album was certified Gold by the RIAA for sales of over 500,000 copies.
Danity Kane: Danity Kane 1st album has sold 1 million copies domestically. Second album by August 2008, the album had sold over 525,000 copies
Day 26: One week after their then labelmates and Making the Band 3 winners Danity Kane released Welcome to the Dollhouse, Day 26's first single, "Got Me Going", was released on the finale of Making the Band 4. The album went on to debut at number one on the billboard charts.
I agree that keeping his name relevant was part of the equation. But, you are mistaken to think that money wasn't being made.
He had them MFs touring like crazy. Domestically and internationally. The problem was them thinking they were more talented than they really were.
In the industry, not the public.
Mase and BIG put Puff on the map. End of story.
Or Craig Mack?People propped this shit
are you 20?
You don't know who Mary J Bilge is?
Puff was someone long before Mase.
He just did

Puff made Mase. He gave him the look, connected him to the producers, and he was introduced by one of the hottest rappers at the time(BIG). Mase was not a standout rapper with a major buzz before Puff. No Puff, no Mase.
