LSU takes #1 spot from USC in AP poll

As an LSU fan, I have mixed feelings about this. Especially since we have Florida next week.

This the first time LSU has been #1 in the AP polls in 50 years...and Florida is gonna do everything they can to knock LSU off.... i was waiting for the #2 vs #3 and with Florida losing..kind of fucked it up.. but with LSU now being ranked #1....that extra motivation is still there for Florida...

and Lord if you cannot show Vick the way, then forgive him for being Lost....

Lsu vs USC will be the most hyped game ever if both teams can make it, but i doubt it will happen. College football tends to reward weak schedules rather than good teams.

After that lousy performance my team had yesterday...

LSU deserves the #1 ranking right now!

But it is a long season...

FIGHT ON TROJANS!!!

No....it "will" be a war.

 it's ALWAYS a war. and still LSU has to go to alabama to face their former coach saban-yet another all-out war. this is the kind of competition that makes the SEC so competitive and so much fun to watch.

co-sign. see wisconsin for a GREAT example of this.

If LSU beat Florida they deserve it if not USC will be #1

STFU nicca. you KNOW you want florida to KILL lsu and for usc to lose so that osu or some other weak ass big 10 team (wisconsin) can move UP in the polls.

the "winner" after all these teams battle each other to hell will be the big 10-as usual.

even the big 12 has good competition with colorado beating OU and with K-state whooping texas.

osu will skate on thru with wisconsin right behind them yet again.

Oh geeze "All out war?" Come on man, LSU should blow Alabama out. That team is suspect man. Cats acting like Alabama, Arkansas, and Kentucky are equivalent to LSU. That shit should be over by halftime. But then again, I'm not all that sold on LSU's offense so anything can happen.

Again EVERY Conference has:
1) A couple of great teams
2) A bunch of average teams
3) An Underacheiver
4) A few doormats

The SEC is no different in this formula

Its Gon BE LSU VS Cal 4 Da National Championship................I Just Wish They Didnt Rank Us #1.............Da SEC Gon Really E At Our Throats Now.............

:hmm: You joking right. If you look at the SEC right now, I don't believe any none SEC would want to be in it. Find me a conference that is on the SEC's level. Find me conference that has to play a brutal in conference schedule then has to play a brutal championship game. Remember last years SEC championship game was more competitive than the National Championship. Unlike the other conferences, the SEC is stacked.

Dude, stop with this "our conference is soooo great crap! Only LSU and very possibly Florida can go to any other conference and run that shit. Just like Texas/Oklahoma, Michigan/OSU, etc. etc.. The rest of those squads would still have two losses at least in any other BCS conference.

AND THE SEC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME......In the 15 years that the game has been played, the game has been decided by less than 10 points THREE TIMES! OUT OF 15 YEARS THE SEC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME HAS BEEN CLOSE 3 TIMES! That shit is typically not as BRUTAL as you make it out to be.....

I love the SEC just like I love every other conference. I LOVE COLLEGE FOOTBALL. At the end of the day, play the schedule and beat the teams on the schedule. If you lose, you're out! I really don't think LSU will have that tough of a time with the "BRUTAL SEC" just like Southern Cal wouldn't if they played in the SEC

ahhh the AP had LSU by a vote. i aint trippin as an SC fan. it will probably flip back and forth all year assuming both run the table. as long as both make it to the game its all good.

you say some stupid shit sometimes, the Undefeated Big Ten Teams Still Has to play each other to earn the right of a Higher Ranking .... There is nothing about my statement that is untrue.... If Florida Wins LSU will drop in Ranking and they should, if not LSU will be No #1 ...... You have other undefeated teams that can be elevated like Kentucky .... If both of these SEC teams though finsih with 2-3 losses they probably wont make the National Championship and Deservedly so ........ Why do you incessantly talk shit when Wisconsin won its last 2 matchups against SEC teams? Purdue is a dangerous Team, Illinois is becoming dangerous, Penn State State is dangerous, Ohio State is dangerous , Michigan is still dangerous.

Thank you for researching College Football on this board, instead of SpECulating

DISCLAIMER:

Yall do more discredit to the SEC by overrating it........ damn, we of Big Ten Nation agree its the best conference ..... You cant count Michigan's loss against SC ....... Michigan, Michigan State., Iowa, Penn State, Minnesota, and Wisconsin are a combined 16-8 vs SEC Teams in Bowl Games since 1990.
