Lowe's is Closing 51 Stores in the US and Canada!!! WTF?!?!?!

Not only is it not that old, but it's also on the old Plaza grounds in New Orleans East which lacks lots of retail presence.

All they have is Walmart on Bullard, drug stores and Family Dollars. Shit is bad out that way...
yeah the east is fucked up they cant win seams like

It is.

An indicator of economic downturn is how many women you see doing jobs more geared towards men...like Uber and Amazon Flex. All of a sudden you see a lot of women hauling. That is not easy work.

In fact as I type this I have a female painting crew doing the paint on one of my projects. Never had that before. @killagram can speak on that. Usually I only see female cleaning crews...

Also, a lot of women are starting to become more overtly inquisitive about one's relationship status. I do a lot of contract work in higher education and I've noticed the uptick 'are you married' probing questions not only from faculty but the female students.

The volume on that 'Men ain't shit' is starting to turn down.... We are on the verge of an underemployment crisis....

Because of this. A lot of people are going to become underemployed if not unemployable due to technological innovation. Just look at the automatic checkout at your local supermarket.

Shit about to get real REAL quick.

*two cents*

Damn bruh, theres reading the tea leaves, and theres this. My man you just broke the shit down so its forever broke.

And this is exactly why I pass a Home Depot to go to Lowes. Wake up Sat morning, I know exactly where everything is. In and out in less than 20 minutes. Fuck crowded ass Home Depot and them overly friendly ass people. "No I don't need any help. I know what I need, and where it is."
Sounds like my type of nikka lmao lmao hate seeing fake smiling faces that's why I stay my ass outta Chick-fil-A

I definitely prefer Home Depot...

I read somewhere a while back that both those stores chose very different store design paths.. Homedepot is more industrial and Lowes is more retail store lighted and atmosphere to appeal to women... I guess thats not working..
Good points. I never thought of that.

@tallblacknyc

I just noticed they closing the NYC Lowes...

But all the ones in the boroughs are good

Not surprised

They were late and let home depot lock in first.

I see people after work going to the one on 23rd.

Man i dnt shop there too expensive like home depot.. i go to menards..always cheaper

Brick and mortar is getting played out, too expensive to operate.

Cheaper to just have an online store, ship from your warehouse.

Lousiana
5770 Read Blvd, New Orleans

dam this store is not that old less than 5 years old i think
Its older than 5 years but not by much. It was built after the Katrina rebuilding craze. It's the second store to close in Greater New Orleans. One in Chalmette closed in 2015/2016. Its now a movie studio.

No major building going on in New Orleans East at the moment. That store had its run.

Since they're based up the road in the Carolinas from where I'm at, I support Lowe's because I feel like I'm supporting the local economy.

Interestingly enough, no stores in the Carolinas are impacted - I guess many people think like I do. Plus, I can't think of where the Home Depots are here, but I can think, off the top of my head, of several Lowe's locations in this area.
Can't close stores in hurricane affected areas/states. They can move inventory around quicker that way.

They probably put a hold on the Carolina stores cuz of the recent hurricanes and floodings.
