Nah bruh don't try to change things now.
You've said before that you will NEVER get married and can have a family without being married.
Please tell me how you can properly raise a family without being married?
That's the number one problem with black families today.
Cats like you are scared of commitment but aren't scared of getting sistas pregnant.
You think being a weekend dad and paying child support will make up for not being there all the time like a real man should be for his children?
Look at all the great black men throughout our history and almost all of them are or have been married (including the two brothas in your avatar)
You're right, marriage isn't right for every person in the world.
My point is don't criticize another man for choosing to do something you wouldn't even have the guts to do.
actually i have changed my point of view a few times before this thread. i believe right now i am selfish and won't make a good husband yeah i did say i would never get married but i am willing to give a shot if the right and i mean right female comes along whereas i dont have to settle if i have to settle then i'll stay single. i have said that a few times or something similar over the past several months.
and it has nothing to do with guts, if it aint right it aint right courage has nothing to do with it.
and yeah my avatar it was a proud moment in black history does it have anything to with marriage? no it has to do with me being proud of what the brother accomplished. don't mix and mingle two things that are nothing alike to prove a point.
also i have no kids and no one ever been pregnant as result of me say that to the next dude. i have no kids for the same reason i aint serious/married with a sista i am not career wise where i want to be and i am selfish as fuck. my career comes b4 all else for me.
and i know plenty of folks raised where their parents weren't married or even together who had great black families marriage doesnt make a family never has never will.
and where did i knock lovie? i was rooting for tony before hand and i thought his wife was white too til i was corrected. been pretty constant i want tony to win.
from what i have seen from this board and from cats i went to college with texas brothers date white/marry white women a lot its their culture and upbringing so its whatever.
was i shocked lovie was married to a white woman? no something about him told me he was.
just b/c he chose to marry a white woman doesn't make him anymore of a man then the next he got in where he fit in and chose to settle, his choice good for him.
he was raised with different priorities in life.
i did question his motivations though being that he was raised from what others r saying in the deep south where racism was stronger so it isnt clear to me why he went for a white woman so to me he went for one just b/c he finally could if that is the reason i dont respect him if he didnt and as some say "he magically fell in love" then ok good for him.
i questioned him but never knocked him.
