Bro...I feel where you're coming from. This year has yielded a few shocking revelations about folks I've known for a long time. I blinded myself to obvious behavior to preserve some friendships.

Shit like that never came outta her mouth, but I guess because she didn't have shit when I met her, but still I feel one should always stay humble.

People will adjust, lie, cheat or steal to project a certain image.

I've got a former female friend, who I've known for years. If you asked me last year: "is she a crazy latina, psycho stalker?" ... I would have said: "HELL NO", but she is.

She acted like she was down to earth, but it was a lie. Now I'm doubting my own perceptions. Maybe, i ignored the signs cuz I wanted her to be a certain way. Maybe, I didn't realize how much she'd been thru (child of divorce, rape, molestation). As I type, she's sitting in a cell, for stealing cigs.

I think I've done that alot in my life, make people into who I've wanted to be.

BTW, got a link for that Jamiroquai song? Had a college friend put me on to them, good music.

I think it depends on how you are defining change Shane.
Seems like some of the examples are less about change and more about people revealing who he/she truly is- the good and the bad.
Change is really about evolution and growth and yes we all change (hopefully) and its very possible to outgrow a relationship. Sometimes needs are met and a relationship runs it's course.
